Peacock premiered the Twisted Metal Season 2 finale on August 28, 2025, the conclusion of its post-apocalyptic action comedy series' sophomore entry. The highly anticipated finale was an action-packed and intense final hour of the show, which featured many player deaths in the battle royale and a shocking return that changed everything for John and Quiet.

Through a flashback, Calypso's supernatural and twisted origins were finally confirmed. Many remaining players found their wishes fulfilled by the mastermind in the finale, but in a twisted way. The tempting price of the tournament, Calypso's promise to fulfill one wish of the winner, also had a full-circle moment. The Twisted Metal Season 2 finale reiterates that every wish comes with a cost, as John, Quiet, and Stu learned in the final leg of this competition.

Here is the complete Twisted Metal Season 2 ending explained.

Twisted Metal Season 2 ending explained: Who won the tournament?

With Calypso's minion unleashed on the remaining players, Stu emerged as the winner of the final battle royale, as he was the only man standing with a still operational vehicle. While almost every player perished in the Twisted Metal Season 2 finale, John, Quiet, and Mayhem managed to escape to John's cabin in the woods. With Stu as the unlikely winner of the tournament, it was time to fulfill his wish, as promised by Calypso.

Through a flashback to the wishing well, we learn that Stu wished to be away from Sweet Tooth and this conflict and live with his best pal, Mike. While this wish might look impossible for some, as Mike was one of the players who died in the tournament, nothing is impossible for a man like Calypso. In his own supernatural twist, Stu finds himself in outer space, with Mike's dead body hovering inside the spaceship. Since he has been physically transported to Outer Space, Calypso technically fulfilled his wish, but with his sick twist.

Twisted Metal Season 2 ending explained: Trouble in John, Quiet, and Mayhem's paradise

In the Twisted Metal Season 2 finale, John, Quiet, and Mayhem seemed to have found an unconventional family of three in each other. With Quiet as the aggressive but supportive mother, John as the kind father, and Mayhem as the innocent child, the three were living in harmony until trouble made its way to their paradise. The trio, who believed that they had finally escaped the mastermind, were shocked to see a television broadcast blaming them for the explosion in the audience stand.

Additionally, Calypso used Quiet's footage from the well, wishing for the city's walls to be torn down, and also forged AI footage showing John and Quiet planting a detonator in the tournament. His manipulation of information in the public eye made John and Quiet into enemies of the government, and the trio had to trade their peaceful life in the woods for a chaotic life on the run.

Twisted Metal Season 2 ending explained: A bittersweet return for John

John, Quiet, and Mayhem, now certified and wanted criminals in the public eye, were preparing to leave when Minion entered their cabin in the Twisted Metal Season 2 finale. It looks like the Minion is far stronger than John anticipated, and it will take more than just strength to kill it. The final leg of the sophomore season takes John and the Minion to the former's childhood bedroom for a final showdown.

However, John was in for a surprise, as when he unmasked the entity during their fight in the bedroom, he was shocked to see Dollface beneath the mask. Krista, aka Dollface, earlier died while saving John and Quiet but appears to be alive in front of John in some sick and twisted way orchestrated by Calypso. John confirms the minion's identity as Dollface when she responds to a familiar tune of music, and John manages to disable it from behind.

Stu makes a surprise return to Earth in the Twisted Metal Season 2 finale, just in time, and helps John, Quiet, and Mayhem escape the chaos at the cabin, leaving the Dollface minion behind.

In the final moments of Twisted Metal Season 2, John has a horrific realization that Calypso fulfilled his wish and brought Dollface back to life, but in a twisted form. With Quiet, Mayhem, and Stu by his side, he announces revenge on Calypso for creating a monster out of his sister, setting the stage for Twisted Metal Season 3. Additionally, all the remaining players also announce their vendettas against the supernatural mastermind, and it is also revealed that Sweet Tooth managed to survive the tournament and is heading to Eastern Sovereignity for a new challenge.
