She added that the relationship did not last long. She is then asked about moving to Ireland just a few weeks after Gerry’s disappearance, to which she reveals that she was unaware of his disappearance and got to know about it through one of her friends’ messages. When Sunny asks her if she would be able to forward the message, Melinda quickly gets bewildered and says it might have been a call and not a text message.

Melinda then continues to speak about why she moved to Ireland. Her answer did not contain any solid reason, which further increased the suspicion of her. When she was asked about whether the end of their relationship had any sort of violence involved, she completely denied it.

On hearing her denials, Jessie pointed out that they have evidence about his violent nature, which Melinda denied once again. After the call ended, Jessie and Sunny understood that Gerry was violent toward her.

The plot further thickens in Unforgotten Season 6 when we see that Melinda returns to her and brings down her diary from the year 2021. She flips through the pages and finds a page where Gerry’s name is written. She then closes the diary and throws it in the fire to burn the evidence.

Back at the station, the team keeps finding more and more details about Gerry’s case involving the numerous text messages that were shared with the victim. After looking through the messages between Melinda and Gerry, Jessie and Sunny also find that Melinda lied to them about her relationship and about the fact that Gerry sent her threatening messages.

In the end, we see Sunny considering whether Melinda met with Gerry’s wife, Juliet. Juliet also faces immense pressure. Marty gets swabbed for the DNA results and eventually runs away.

Unforgotten Season 6 episode 4 ends with many questions as we see Marty is nowhere to be found after he leaves her mother in the house, Melinda sits inside a church and prays, which adds to the intrigue, and Juliet opens up about Marty’s involvement in the past. All of these incidents make Gerry’s case even more complicated. All the answers to these questions will be further divulged in the next episode of the series.
