Unforgotten Season 6 episode 5 is set to release for its US audience on September 21, 2025. After the events of the fourth episode, the anticipation for the fifth episode is at an all-time high. With only two episodes left in the season, Jess and Sunny are getting closer and closer to finding the truth behind Gerry’s murder.

During the video call, Melinda revealed that she had a brief romantic relationship with Gerry. However, through the phone and message records, Jess and Sunny find the real truth. Melinda’s relationship with Gerry was anything but short-lived. It continued for a long time, and there might be some connections with Gerry’s wife, Juliet, as well.

At the end of the fourth episode, Marty is also under suspicion as Juliet reveals his past connection. Marty runs away, leaving his mother in the apartment after giving his swab for the DNA tests. These events of Unforgotten Season 4 episode 4 set the stage for the penultimate episode of the season.

Both Sinéad Keenan and Sanjeev Bhaskar do a commendable job in bringing out the intense nature of their characters. Sinéad Keenan is a new arrival in the series. She joined Unforgotten in the fifth season and has perfectly depicted the character of DCI Jessica 'Jessie' James.

MyAnna Buring also perfectly captures Melinda’s distinct personality, especially during the video call. The emotional highs and lows that Melinda was facing while being interrogated felt authentic because of her performance.

Unforgotten Season 6 episode 5 will continue after the events of the fourth episode. Hence, we will be able to see if Melinda and Marty are truly involved in the case and to what extent. The fifth episode will also bring us closer to finding out the real criminal and the reason for the murder.

Sanjeev Bhaskar's performance is truly the heart and soul of the show. The manner in which Sanjeev Bhaskar depicts Sunny’s unwavering dedication to bringing justice is truly remarkable. Unforgotten is truly a unique crime drama. This uniqueness comes from how the series refuses to rush into a conclusion without properly peeling back the layers of mystery.
