Universal Basic Guys is among the most entertaining animated shows by Fox, which introduces viewers to two brothers: Mark and Hank Hoagies. The plot is quite intriguing and relatable as the story takes place in 2024, where the rise of AI is becoming a threat to many jobs.

And unfortunately, Mark and Hank ended up unemployed after their factory work was replaced by AI. This change led the brothers to survive on a special government program, Universal Basic Income (UBI), through which they get money to fulfill their basic needs.

They get less money compared to the amount they used to earn at the factory. Mark and Hank find it challenging to adjust to a new lifestyle. The episodes of Universal Basic Guys are packed with comedic moments as the brothers don't shy away from experimenting with different activities.

What is even more hilarious is that Mark and Hank even try out wild schemes with their family. Since they're trying to adapt to the post-work existence, these brothers also decide to pursue quirky adventures, which makes viewers excited while watching the animated show.

As mentioned before, Universal Basic Guys takes place in 2024 in South Jersey and follows the life of Hank and Mark after AI takes away their factory jobs. However, the animated show wouldn't have been possible without its talented voice cast, who bring energy to the characters.

So, here's a list of the main voice actors in Universal Basic Guys:

Mark Hoagies is voiced by Adam Malamut: Mark is older than Hank, and being a middle-aged man, he's mostly careless and often acts foolishly. He has a frat-boy type of personality and tends to make trouble because he rarely listens to advice. Despite his flaws, Mark is the main character and keeps viewers engaged with his behaviour.

Hanks Hoagies is voiced by Adam Malamut: Interestingly, Adam Malamut is also the voice behind the younger brother, Hank. Malamut isn't just a voice actor, but also serves as a co-creator and executive producer for Universal Basic Guys on Hulu.

Unlike Mark, Hank is more sensible and grounded, though still a bit simple-minded. He often joins Mark on his quirky adventures, and together they face the new challenges in life. Since the brothers have different personalities, Malamut ensures to focus on their uniqueness.

Tammy Hoagies is voiced by Talia Genevieve: Tammy is Mark’s practical wife and a nurse who keeps things under control amid Mark’s chaos. She has a teenage son, Darren, from a previous marriage, who visits them regularly.

David is voiced by Fred Armisen: Universal Basic Guys not only focuses on the Hoagies' family, but also features their neighbor, David. He’s nervous and anxious, dreams of being a writer, and usually gets caught up in Mark and Tammy’s crazy adventures, often against his will.

Andrea is voiced by Ally Maki: David lives with his wife, Andrea, who is mostly seen clashing with him. Andrea is quite strict and dominant, highlighting family drama in the animated show.

While Mark and Hank are the key figures in the Fox animated sitcom, the show is incomplete without the recurring characters who contribute to driving the plot. So, here's a list of the actors who lent their voices for other characters:

Brandon Wardell as Darren: Darren is Tammy’s son, a teenager who is emotionally withdrawn. He spends much of his time playing video games and visiting his mother and Mark since his father has custody.

Tommy Pope as Steve: Steve is Mark’s rival. He’s more successful, arrogant, and always ready to mock Mark. He works in ticket sales for the Philadelphia Eagles, and his presence in the show pushes Mark to try harder and prove himself.

Craig Malamut as Murph: Murph is one of Mark’s friends with shady connections. He embodies the "always knows someone" stereotype common in South Jersey neighborhoods. His underworld connections and insider knowledge often bring unexpected twists and humor in the story.
