Sneha Anne Philip was born on Oct 7, 1969, and was an Indian-american Physician living in Lower Manhattan, originally born in Kerala, India. In 1995, Sneha Philip joined the Chicago School of Medicine to become a doctor. There, she met Ron Lieberman, a student who was one year junior. They fell for each other and started dating. Other than being a medical professional, Sneha enjoyed painting. In May 2000, Sneha and Ron got married in a small ceremony in Dutchess County, New York.

As mentioned, she was last seen shopping near her apartment. During the investigation, it was discovered that she spent her day chatting online and running errands. She purchased some lingerie, linens, dresses, and shoes and spent nearly $550.

She left her Battery Park City apartment around 5:15 PM and never returned. It was CCTV that revealed her location at the store at 7:18 PM. Her family suspects that she did survive the 9/11 attack but died while trying to aid victims because she was a trained medical professional. However, the Police suggested that she had some personal struggles, suggesting that she disappeared voluntarily.

In 2004, Anne's name was removed from the official 9/11 victims list by the NYC medical examiner due to her overnight disappearance. In 2008, a newyork appeals court effectively and then reinstated her as a 9/11 victim. But the case remains puzzling.

No remains or personal items, like her shopping bags or jewellery, have been recovered. Therefore, the divide between the beliefs of the family members and private investigators remained different from that of the NYPD. The authorities didn't find any substantial evidence backing that she disappeared voluntarily.

Her family felt some peace when she was officially named a 9/11 victim. But even now, they and the investigators still don’t have a clear answer. But her body was never found, and it's not known if she is even alive. Anne's case reminds us of all those people who just vanished without a trace on 9/11.
