Netflix's Untamed Episode 2 saw a breakthrough in Kyle and Naya's Jane Doe murder investigation and also revealed key details about the death of Kyle's son, Caleb. As Kyle continues to have harrowing visions about Caleb, his grief is heightened when he sees his ex-wife Jill with her new husband.
Untamed Episode 2 took Kyle and Naya to a squatter camp, where they find that Shane Maguire, a Wildlife Control agent, is also looking for a drug dealer. Kyle's confrontation with Shane suggests bad blood between them, and the investigator believes that Shane might be the killer. He smartly fires a bullet from Shane's gun and collects it to check the ballistics.
Here is the complete recap of Episode 2.
Untamed Episode 2 recap: The curious case of X
The second episode of Untamed begins with a flashback to Jane Doe's murder, who is running through the woods with several drug bottles marked X. She clumsily drops the bottles and later collects all (but one) and stashes them inside an ice cooler. Later, she is shot in the leg by her unidentified killer.
Back in the present, Kyle finds the dropped drug bottle in the middle of the park and the gold X on the bottle reminds him of the gold X tattoo on Jane Doe's body. Sure that the tattoo could be a breakthrough in the case, he orders Teddy, a low-level drug dealer, to ask around about the gold X tattoo, after threatening to expose his drug-dealing ways to everyone.
Teddy visits a drug-dealer/tattooist named Linson and inquires about the gold X tattoo. Linson is defensive about the whole thing and claims that doing such a gold tattoo is impossible. Later, he texts Teddy and warns him to drop the inquiry or else he will be killed. That night, Linson's warning turns out to be true, and Teddy is strangled in his car.
Untamed Episode 2 recap: Who is Sean Sanderson?

Untamed Episode 2 also introduced another mystery of Sean Sanderson, who also disappeared from Yosemite a few years ago. Now, his family is suing the park for a wrongful death case, and Kyle finds the family's investigator, Avalos, waiting for him at his cabin.
Through Avalos' questions, we learn that Sean went missing a few days after Caleb's death, and it is hinted that Sean is actually Caleb's killer. After Kyle learned about this, he killed Sean and used his position to bury the investigation. Avalos' questions resurfaced Kyle's grief, triggering his memories about Caleb's death. The investigator also accuses Kyle of not being in the proper headspace to investigate Sean's disappearance.
Untamed Episode 2 also featured a 40th anniversary party for Souter and his wife, where Naya learns key information about Caleb's death from Milch. The latter reveals that Caleb was abducted from Yosemite a few years ago, and his body was later found floating in a lake.
Untamed Episode 2 recap: Naya's breakthrough solves Jane Doe's identity
Since Naya collected Jane Doe's bracelet in Untamed, she was sure that she was somehow related to the Wildwood Nature Adventures. However, Souter shows her a box filled with similar bracelets, suggesting that it is nearly impossible to find Jane Doe's real identity from the bracelet alone.
However, Naya continues to follow the Wildwood lead and comes through an archive. She sees an entry of a young girl named Lucy Cook, who went missing from the park decades earlier. In the present, she would have easily become their Jane Doe, and the facial recognition report confirms that Kyle and Naya's Jane Doe is in fact Lucy Cook.
