Pluribus(stylized as PLUR1BUS), Apple TV’s post-apocalyptic sci-fi title, has already earned critical acclaim. It became the platform’s most viewed drama series launches.

Vince Gilligan, the creator of the show (and some of the most widely popular titles of prestige TV like Better Call Saul) has recently opened up about crossover possiblity between Pluribus and Breaking Bad.

Breaking Bad cemented Gilligan’s name in the world of gritty, thrilling storytelling. Naturally, fans have wondered if characters from Breaking Bad could walk into the world of Pluribus.

That question drew lots of eyes after Gilligan appeared on The Rich Eisen Show. Pointing out that Pluribus is set in Albuquerque, a place where stories of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul are also contextualised, Eisen asked whether viewers might encounter any “survivors” from the older shows within this latest title:

"Is there any possibility that we run into any survivors of those shows in Pluribus? Where they're part of the hive [...]."

Gilligan didn’t shut the door outright. Instead, he teased that the show could include cameos or Easter eggs. These may or may not involve celebrated characters from Breaking Bad or Better Call Saul however this is unconfirmed. However, this was made clear that the two different shows would not fold into each other.

He said,

“We might have a few Easter eggs to throw your way.”

He also expressed that he initially resisted building the story in Albuquerque specifically because he didn’t want to confuse viewers about the connection.

He said,

"But I kinda resisted [having the in-story setting be Albuquerque] because I thought it would confuse people."

Streaming on Apple TV, the series stars Rhea Seehorn, who has returned for another collaboration with Gilligan after Better Call Saul. In Pluribus, she returns as Carol Sturka, a fantasy romance author who survives an alien virus outbreak that turns nearly all of humanity into a docile hive mind.

According to Apple TV's official synopsis Pluribus is: “A genre-bending original in which the most miserable person on Earth must save the world from happiness.”

For fans considering which characters could plausibly appear, the surviving figures from the Breaking Bad universe include Kim Wexler (SeeHorn), Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk), Skyler White (Anna Gunn), and Marie Schrader (Betsy Brandt).

Season 1 of the show has already released 4 episodes and is waiting for its 5th Season 1 episode to air on 26 November 2025. We will see appearances by Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul, Jonathan Banks, and Giancarlo Esposito in the context of the hive mind’s media broadcasts.

However, we may not find these characters in canonical continuity, as their Breaking Bad characters are either deceased or elsewhere.

The show has picked up remarkable viewership across the globe. The story is inventive, darkly humorous, and brings with it Seehorn’s standout performance. Pluribus premiered with two episodes on November 7, 2025, and has quickly topped Apple TV charts in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Brazil, Australia, Germany, Mexico, India, and France.

In the U.S., the first two episodes bagged a solid 6.4 million viewing hours in their first week, cementing the show's success with modern audience.

The 5th season of Vince Gilligan's Pluribus will air on November 26, 2025.
