Pete Davidson had recently made a prediction about Walton Goggins after the online hate Pedro Pascal received this year. Pascal has starred in multiple projects this year, including Eddington, The Last of Us Season 2, Materialists, and The Fantastic Four: First Steps. While initially netizens loved to see him star in The Last of Us as Joel, in 2025, many were not keen to see him in multiple projects. There was a general environment created on social media which directed hate towards Pascal having a more than ususal busy year.

Observing this hate, Pete Davidson defended Pascal in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, and said:

“They’re gonna do it with Walton Goggins, [he] will be next.”

Davidson continued:

“It’s like, we build everybody up and now it’s so fast to turn. It’s within months.”

Walton Goggins has graciously resonded to Davidson's prediction on his Instagram account, speaking about things one often doesn't:

"I saw this article and had to respond. (Pete was talking about his own experience) Pete we don’t know each other but I appreciate the heads up. We agree on one thing… Pedro Pascal isn’t a good man, He’s a great man. A dear friend of mine. As a 53 yr old I’m acutely aware that every experience has a shelf life. I appreciate so many of you going on this journey with me. I imagine a lot of you (and I don’t blame you) are tired of hearing my homilies. Trust me I’m tired of saying them. I have a few things coming out that I have an obligation to talk about… not for me mind you, but to honor all of those that worked so hard to bring these stories to fruition."

Walton Goggins responds to Pete Davidson

Walton Goggins, like Pedro Pascal, has had quite the active year careerwise. In 2025, Goggins has reprised his role as Baby Billy Freeman in The Righteous Gemstones Season 4, The Ghoul / Cooper Howard in The Fallout Season 2, and Cecil Stedman in Invincible Season 3, and played Ricky Hatchett in The White Lotus. Thus Pete Davidson predicted that Walton Goggins will get the same hate as Pedro because after years of hard work he is being recognized, but netizens will not give him the time to adjust or soak in the achievements and success.

After Walton Goggins came across Pete Davidson's predictions about him in The Hollywood Reporter article, he responded to it.

Walton Goggins has addressed the simple truth that if he has worked in multiple projects, he has to talk about it and promote it whether people like it or not. Whether one watched his shows or films is their personal choice, his duty is to work and play his role in promoting it not only for his sake, but for the sake of all artists whose hard work has gone into those films and shows.

Goggins continued:

"So if you see something with my name on it I encourage you not to click on it… unless you want to… and if you do…I appreciate the support. See to me, being included in this headline isn’t a curse it’s a blessing. How lucky am I that this is even a possibility?!! I’ve had the good fortune of engaging in so many interesting conversations with so many of you….of collaborating with so many top-shelf people across so many disciplines over the last couple of years. Way more than a poor kid from GA would ever have the audacity to imagine. I wouldn’t take one back. So…If saying yes in life more than saying no is a crime, then I’m guilty as charged. And If this headline is a possibility or an inevitability… if this is my fate…Well… F*ck it. I’m going to enjoy the F*CK OUT OF IT. Swipe Right👉 WG."

Walton Goggins has responded to Davidson's prediction by simply being candid and saying that he regrets none of it. Goggins' words also hold weight because it reminds us that while we live in times highly influenced by social media, one shouldn't let internet hate affect their personal and career choices.
