Jackie has had a difficult time in season two of My Life with the Walter Boys. When the second season begins, we see her not feeling at home in New York, despite having grown up there until her family's tragic accident. She left Silver Falls at the end of season one and hoped she would feel better in New York, but she didn't. When Katherine visited Jackie in New York at the end of summer and talked to her about returning to Silver Falls, Jackie eventually agreed.
But she went through several ups and downs in My Life with the Walter Boys season two. Whenever viewers thought Jackie knew what she wanted or was content, one thing or another disrupted her peace. We don't know where Jackie is headed in season three after season two's surprising ending. But Nikki Rodriguez, who plays Jackie, opened up to The Hollywood Reporter about where Jackie’s story could go in season three.
Nikki Rodriguez on where Jackie is headed in My Life with the Walter Boys season three
Alex (played by Ashby Gentry) had confessed to Jackie that he loved her at the end of season one of My Life with the Walter Boys, and after that, Jackie had kissed his older brother, Cole (played by Noah LaLonde). It is safe to say that these two incidents made Jackie freak out and run so far away from them that she left Silver Falls with her uncle Richard.
After returning to Silver Falls in season two, things are awkward between Jackie and Cole, given how she just bolted after they shared a kiss. Alex is understandably upset with her because her reaction to Alex's confession was to leave without any explanation. Jackie gradually fixes her friendship with both brothers and even tells Alex that she and Cole kissed. Jack and Alex start dating again, as Alex says he cannot get over her, and Jackie also eventually says she loves him back.
But My Life with the Walter Boys season two ends with Cole confessing to Jackie that he loves her, and shockingly, her saying it back. Things get even more complicated because Alex overhears their conversation. Thus, we don't know whom Jackie ends up with, whom she really loves, or what's awaiting her in season three. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter about where she would like to see Jackie head to in season three, Nikki Rodriguez said,
"I just want to watch her grow and handle her problems and figure out who she is. Growing up is complicated, so just exploring that to the best of her ability… I’m just excited to see where she goes!"
Having feelings for two boys, who are also brothers, is an extremely complicated situation. It is not easy for a teenager to go through her family's demise, move to a new place, and also deal with her confusing romantic feelings. Jackie has been going through a lot. She is a perfectionist and has been trying to do everything, from acing her driving test to saving Fall Formal.
Among excelling in her studies, dating Alex, and helping Cole and the Walters out, Jackie felt she was losing herself and memories of her family in My Life with the Walter Boys season two. As Rodriguez pointed out, other than her romantic dilemmas, she also needs to figure out who she is, and her life is shaping up as she grows up. Thus, season three will hopefully address that and give Jackie space to truly mold herself into the person she wants to be.
As for which brother she chooses, we can know the answer to that only once season three comes out. Irrespective of whom she chooses, it's important she chooses herself first and explores life to the fullest.
