The third episode of Heated Rivalry leaned further into the backstory of François Arnaud's Scott Hunter on the show, as it explored his past relationship with Christopher "Kip" Grady, and old flame he was careless with.
That being said, if Arnaud seems a little too familiar to you, you have definitely watched him on one of his growing list of television shows. He led the show Midnight Texas, played Oscar on Blindspot, and more familiarly, he played the titular character of Sebastien Raine on the eponymous episode of Schitt's Creek.
More details about François Arnaud's role on Schitt's Creek and it's plot
Sebastien Raine rolls into Schitt's Creek with the kind of dramatic flair only a New York photographer can pull off, ready to chat with Moira about a glossy collaboration she has already mentally staged on a beach that costs more than David's entire wardrobe rotation. The only snag is that Moira forgets a very important detail about him: Sebastien happens to be one of David's exes, and they absolutely did not have an amicable breakup.
David walked away from that relationship convinced that Sebastien only showed up when he needed something. So when Moira enthusiastically drags David back into the orbit of a man he considers a walking red flag, everyone braces themselves. The meetup between Moira and Sebastien doesn't unfold with the glamour she pictured, and David's reunion with him is equally messy in its own electrified way, though the results might not be exactly what either of them expected.
While that storm brews, the town has its own subplot playing out in classic Schitt's Creek style. Bob is hunting down bodies for his revived poker nights, and Roland is doing olympic level dodging to avoid getting roped in again. When Johnny volunteers to join the first game with the usual suspects Roland, Ronnie, and Ray he notices a pattern: Bob walks away with the pot every time. By the end of the night, Johnny starts forming a theory that maybe Gwen is giving Bob a little off screen help. He quietly shares the idea with the other players and they agree to run a sneaky test behind Bob and Gwen's backs to see if the theory holds.
Meanwhile Alexis is on a panic timer because she needs volunteer hours for graduation and fast. Ted steps in and invites her to tag along for one of his regular volunteer gigs dance night at a seniors home. Once she gets past the initial disgust of being surrounded by old people, she ends up having a surprisingly eye opening experience that shifts her perspective more than she expected.
Arnaud's role on Schitt's Creek remains a memorable one, as he is one of the most talked about exes on David's roster. The episode is messy, with some gag worthy moments as the two men reunite after their tumultuous past.
You can watch Schitt's Creek on Netflix. While Heated Rivalry is available to stream on HBO Max.
