Peacemaker Season 2 continues the tale of Chris Smith/Peacemaker and other characters like Economos, Harcourt, Adebayo, and others. The superhero series released its second installment on August 21, 2025 on HBO Max and is created by James Gunn.
Peacemaker Season 2 is a part of the DCU or DC Universe and focuses on Chris, who finds an alternate dimension where he is worshipped as a superhero. In the second episode of Peacemaker Season 2, Economos mentions that he and Rick Flag Sr. are good friends, which is a reference to the animated show, Creature Commandos. However, Flag Sr. does not consider the friendship. As Rick Flag Sr. becomes the new director of ARGUS, Adebayo warns Chris that Flag Sr. is now monitoring every move of Peacemaker.
During this conversation, Peacemaker asks Leota if she knows that he was the one who killed Rick Flag Jr. in Corto Maltese. This is again a reference to the events of 2021’s The Suicide Squad. As Rick Flag Sr. is the head of ARGUS, he is seen in the episode, looking at the classified documents of the Corto Maltese reports. Therefore, he is now seeking revenge from Chris.
