Hulu’s new series, Washington Black, is nothing short of an exciting voyage of a young man and his exceptional mind and passion for art, with which he wants to change the world. The series is adapted from Esi Edugyan's novel and tells the story of a young boy named George, whose life is turned upside down, and he has to escape the sugar plantation where he was born. In eight episodes, the Hulu series depicts the adventurous life of George as he embarks on a journey throughout the world.

Storyline of Washington Black
In the Hulu series, the character of George Washington Black will be played by Eddie Katanga and Ernest Kingsley Jr. The series will revolve around George learning to read and draw, and being interested in science through Christopher 'Titch' Wilde, and then eventually meeting Brown’s Medwin Harris, who empathises with Black as he shares a similar trauma of growing up in Nova Scotia.
The logline of Washington Black reads as:
"When a harrowing incident forces Wash to flee, he is thrust into a globe-spanning adventure that challenges and reshapes his understanding of family, freedom and love. As he navigates uncharted lands and impossible odds, Wash finds the courage to imagine a future beyond the confines of the society he was born into."
The series will take us on a one-of-a-kind journey with George as he explores the world, and also give us a glimpse of the early 19th century and the lives of the oppressed and their fight for freedom and identity in their own ways.
