Watson season two is scheduled to return on 13th October 2025. The CBS medical drama was first released on 26th January 2025. While it was originally supposed to return for season two in January 2026, its release was preponed to October 2025 due to CIA getting cancelled.

As Deadline reports, a few actors are joining the cast for season 2, including NCIS: Hawai’i star Noah Mills, along with Robert Carlyle.

Watson season two will star Noah Mills from NCIS: Hawai'i

Watson is a modern retelling of Arthur Conan Doyle’s Dr. John Watson, who, after Sherlock Holmes’ death, resumes his medical practice to treat strange diseases not identified by regular doctors. Moriarty was the one who killed Sherlock, and in season one, Watson and his team managed to defeat Moriarty.

According to the YouTube description of the show's trailer,

WATSON takes place six months after the death of the titular character’s friend and partner Sherlock Holmes at the hands of Moriarty. The show stars Morris Chestnut as Dr. John Watson, who resumes his medical career as the head of a clinic dedicated to treating rare disorders. Watson’s old life isn’t done with him, though – Moriarty and Watson are set to write their own chapter of a story that has fascinated audiences for more than a century. Watson is a medical show with a strong investigative spine, featuring a modern version of one of history’s greatest detectives as he turns his attention from solving crimes to solving medical mysteries.

In season two, however, the presumed-dead Sherlock Holmes appears to be alive, and while that is a happy revelation, it will make Watson face a truth hidden deep within himself.

Robert Carlyle is going to play Holmes in season two, and Noah Mills will play Beck Wythe. Beck comes back to Pittsburgh after wrecking his career in Silicon Valley by making choices that clearly did not work out well. In group therapy for people with Cluster B personality disorders, he meets Ingrid Derian (played by Eve Harlow). The two form a close connection, which could help them rebuild themselves or pull them into more trouble.

  • Peter Mark Kendall as Stephens Croft and Adam Croft
  • Inga Schlingmann as Sasha Lubbock

The show was created by Craig Sweeny, who based it on the stories by Arthur Conan Doyle. Sweeny also serves as an executive producer along with Shäron Moalem, Morris Chestnut, Brian Morewitz, Sallie Patrick, Aaron Kaplan, and Larry Teng. The show is produced by Geoffrey Hemwall and Scott Graham, with production companies including Action This Day!, Kapital Entertainment, and CBS Studios.
