Watson takes on a case of gene mutations and a confusing Sherlock Holmes in Watson Season 2 Episode 10
This episode of Watson Season 2 begins with a man named Hobie discussing gene mutations. He himself got his body modified and now has a glowing chest. A woman, Wendy, arrives to meet Hobie. They profess their love for one another. Hobie then injects something into Wendy’s body that could change her genome.
However, the moment they kiss, Wendy begins to have a reaction. The scene then cuts to Watson taking a nap in his office. He is asked to demonstrate a transplant, as the team is having difficulty doing so. Things get complicated for Watson when he finds Sherlock.
Sherlock begins to talk about the Great Depression and the murals, which confuse Watson. He tries to take Watson back to his house to discuss further, but right then, he gets a call from Hobie. Hobie is stressed about Wendy, as he thinks that the experiment failed and he killed her.
Wendy is taken to the hospital, and Watson asks Hobie about the injection. Hobie tells him that he “worked up a love mod”. This “love mod” is a “riff on the biohack” that Hobie used to make his chest glow. However, this time he used “bioluminescence from red mushroom coral”. Watson assures Hobie that he will try his best to make Wendy healthy, but he is unsure about Hobie’s position, as now he might be in trouble. Watson begins to dive deep into Wendy’s case with his team.
He wants to find the cause of the health disaster that she is having. Hobie visits Wendy at the hospital to check on her. Watson arrives in the room to tell him that Wendy’s situation is not getting better. He also asks her if she has gone through any other body modifications that could lead to her present situation. Hobie answers it all.
Though Hobie’s reason for doing this was “love”, Watson dismisses it completely. Back at Watson’s house, Sherlock is having a nightmare. He wakes up to see Watson sitting by his side. Watson asks him about his reasons for faking his own death and camping at the hospital. Sherlock tells him that he is worried about his life. Before they are able to discuss further about Sherlock’s symptoms, Watson gets a call from Hobie. He tells him about Wendy’s deteriorating situation.
Watson arrives at the hospital. He tells Wendy that her kidneys are failing, but they are trying everything to keep things stable. As this episode of Watson Season 2 continues, Watson asks Dr. Derian about Sherlock’s symptoms. On the other hand, after seeing Wendy’s results, Watson thinks that she used CRISPR before, which might have caused her symptoms.
He thinks that there is already quite a lot of damage in her chromosomes, and they might not be able to help her. When Wendy is asked by Watson about this, she reveals the truth. Watson Season 2 truly brings out yet another intriguing case with Wendy. At the end of this episode of Watson Season 2, Sherlock and Watson discuss Sherlock’s situation.
Watson tells Sherlock that he needs to see a neurologist. On the other hand, Wendy’s situation is getting better after Watson finds out about her past genetic mutations and gives her medications accordingly. However, right at the moment when Hobie arrives to speak to Wendy, things get worse for her.
Hobie tells Watson that he just kissed her, after which she lost consciousness just as she did before. Watson finally realizes that Wendy has yet another allergy. Wendy is allergic to Hobie. Hearing this, Hobie decides to reverse his modifications to be closer to Wendy. This episode then ends with a cliffhanger, as John sees Mary kissing someone while he goes to tell her about his feelings.
