The eighth episode in Watson Season 2 is titled "Livvy Sees the Doctor" and aired on CBS on December 1. The official description of the episode read as follows:

''Watson and the fellows are taken hostage by a man with a bomb strapped to his chest who is desperate to find a cure for his 9-year-old daughter's illness.''

The episode kicked off with Fitz, who desperately sought treatment at Holmes' clinic for his 9-year-old daughter, Olivia Fitzgerald, who had a rare form of cancer. However, since Watson's clinic did not take child patients, he referred him to a pediatrician. Things got dangerous for our protagonist and his team when Fitz took them hostage as a su*c*de bomber and threatened to take down the clinic if his daughter was not given the proper treatment.

Here is what went down in Watson Season 2 Episode 8.

Things escalated in Watson Season 2 Episode 8 because Sergeant William Fitzergald was a trained military man, adamant on getting the best treatment for his 9-year-old daughter, Olivia. While Watson had offered a referral in Wisconsin, Fitz could not afford to go there. Time was running out and the doctors were unable to make a proper diagnosis for her because Fitz did not have her medical records. As it turns out, Fitz was not Olivia's biological father. He served with her biological father and mother and took her under his care when her mother died and her father married someone else. Fitz never even dated Olivia's mother but he cared for her as his own daughter.

Eleven months had already passed and since Watson and team were not getting on Olivia's case, Fitz took the matter into his own hands. He arrived at the clinic as a su*c*de bomber and took everyone hostage. While Ingrid's therapy partner, Beck, tried to take him out, he was no match for Fitz's skills and was tied to a chair in no time. With Watson and his fellows under his captivity, Fitz demanded treatment for Olivia.

Watson Season 2 Episode 8 recap: Watson pulled off a difficult surgery

Amid the hostage situation in Watson Season 2 Episode 8, our protagonist had to perform a dangerous surgery when Olivia's spleen ruptured. Watson asked Fitz for his team and access to the surgery room and they performed surgery on his daughter, saving her life. While the threat was contained for now, Watson was still unable to diagnose Olivia's condition because he did not have her or her parents' medical records. They only knew that Olivia was experiencing the same symptoms as her mother, who died from lymphoma. Watson feared this could be genetic.

Believe it or not, but it was Beck who gave the case in Watson Season 2 Episode 8 a new direction. Since Beck wanted to prove himself as a hero in front of the media, he launched himself at Fitz and cut his hand in the process, which started bleeding. When Watson's team tested Fitz's blood, they made a shocking discovery that he is Olivia's biological father after all.

Fitz's blood also helped Watson diagnose Olivia's condition, who had a rare disease called X-Men, which is caused by a warped X chromosome and is only found in men. When Fitz realized that his blood could save his daughter's life, he came back to his senses and let go of the bomb. Watson and team de-escalated the situation and Olivia was given the proper treatment.

In the final moments of Watson Season 2 Episode 8, while Beck posed in front of the media, claiming that he saved the day, Watson got Olivia and Fitz out.
