Watson Season 2 Episode 9 recap: Watson's prompt action saves a life once again

Watson Season 2 Episode 9 brings forth an interesting case. In this episode, certain sensitive elements are represented. It cannot be denied that this episode tried its best to depict these aspects with the sensitivity that they needed. Since the beginning of the series, each and every episode of Watson Season 2 resonated with a distinct level of nuance. It is further enhanced in this episode of the series.

Watson’s prompt action saves a life once again in Watson Season 2 Episode 9

Episode 9 of Watson Season 2 starts with Micah, a student, following the advice of an AI chatbot. AI plays a crucial role in this episode. This episode dives into the dangers that AI might pose to the world. Micah is taking the advice of the AI chatbot to give Bex, her lab partner, a surprise. He wants her to go to the prom with him.

However, when Bex arrives, he refuses to do so. The scene then cuts to Micah’s mother discussing Micah’s obsession with the chatbot. She is worried about him. She indicates that Micah is suffering from AI psychosis. John Watson tells her that it is not a real diagnosis. Watson then arrives to speak to Micah to get to know more about his case. Their conversation does not last long, as Micah tells Watson that he does not want to discuss the chatbot issue with him.

As the episode progresses, Micah goes to Bex’s house to collect “proof”, which his chatbot tells him to do. He begins to go through the trash can at Bex’s house. Right then, Bex’s father comes out, which causes Micah to run to the street. A car then slams into him, making him fall on the ground. He is promptly taken to the hospital, where it is revealed that he faced multiple injuries.

Watson brings forth a team, along with a psychiatrist, Dr. Ferry, to find out more about Micah’s case. They discuss the dangerous path that Micah’s situation might lead to. Watson then goes to speak with Micah. He begins to ask him about his trip to Bex’s house the previous night. However, Micah does not give a direct answer. He shifts the topic to discuss Watson’s relationship with his mother.

He eventually tells Watson about his Plan B for fixing Bex’s issue so that she can be happy about Micah’s involvement in her life. Dr. Ferry and his team go to Bex’s house to discuss Micah. However, things get complicated when Bex gets sick. She tells them that she hit her head, which was the reason her walk was different, which was noticed by Micah. Bex is then taken to the hospital. As the episode of Watson Season 2 progresses, Watson goes to speak with Micah about Bex’s situation. He reaches his room to find that he is not there.

The scene cuts to Micah discussing with the chatbot once again. He then decides to go through Watson’s office to find evidence of whether he ever did anything wrong. On the other hand, Bex’s situation deteriorates. The doctors are able to bring her back into a stable condition. Watson gives Micah a book and tells him to give him thirty days. He wants Micah to stop using the chatbot for thirty days to understand that he does not really need the chatbot. He even tells him about Sherlock.

Bex recovers from the surgery. At the end of this episode in Watson Season 2, Micah comes across Bex at the hospital. Micah realizes his fault and asks for forgiveness from her. Right at the moment, Bex collapses. Watson asks Bex’s father about her medical history. He finds that Bex’s twin sister died, so he understands that Bex might be suffering from Leigh syndrome. Once again, Watson’s prompt action saves a life in the series.
