Thrilling information to Adolescence enthusiasts! The Netflix mini-series, which was released in 2025, earned massive acclaim in the 2026 Golden Globe Awards. The series received acclaim due to its four parts in one episode format and its plot surrounding young people, responsibility, and hard decisions.

It received a lot of publicity on the good performances and the manner in which it managed to narrate a whole story within a few episodes. However, what about a second season? Stephen Graham discussed the future of Adolescence after the awards.

As per Deadline, he said,

"I cannot answer that question because it’s somewhere in the deep recesses of my mind and Jack’s mind, and we’ll pull it out in three or four years, so stay tuned.”

Although he did not confirm that it was Season 2, he said that the creators could use a similar story in the future. The point is that Adolescence was created to be a fully-fledged series.

Wins of Golden Globe in Adolescence

In 2026, the Golden Globe Awards, Adolescence was the winner of the Best Television Limited Series, Anthology or Motion Picture Made for Television. Major acting awards also earned by the show were:

Best Actor in a Limited Series: Stephen Graham.

Best Supporting Actor: Owen Cooper

He is also the youngest winner of a Golden Globe, an Emmy, and a Critics' Choice award for the same role.

Best supporting actress: Erin Doherty

Although Adolescence took four awards, it did not take more than any other show. Other programs, such as The Pitt (Best Drama Series) and The Studio (Best Musical/Comedy), also won major awards.

Reasons why Adolescence was made is a limited series

Adolescence was to be a series that was always intended to be short and finished. The entire narrative is conveyed in the four episodes, and the lack of cuts coupled with a one-shot shooting creates a very specific and frantic impression.

Jack Thorne, the writer and director Philip Barantini, have indicated that the story was to wrap up in these four episodes. Although the team might still be doing other projects, they have no intention of keeping Adolescence.

Stephen Graham about a second season

Following the Golden Globes, Stephen Graham was asked whether Adolescence could make a reappearance. He didn’t say yes or no. He simply stated that the team could consider similar concepts in the future, but no scripts or plans to have a second season.

Nothing is officially proven so far. Any speculation that they will have a second season is mere speculation.

The reason why people are continuing to discuss Season 2

Although the story is complete, individuals continue to ask themselves whether there can be more. The reason is that Adolescence received critical acclaim as well as large awards and attention due to its distinctive one-shot style.

Another aspect that fans loved was the acts and the plot concerning youth, responsibility, and hardcore decisions. This is why it is still buzzing, despite the fact that the series is self-contained.

Current status of Adolescence season 2

Adolescence is a comprehensive miniseries.

There has not been a second season announced or confirmed.

The second season does not have any scripts, a production schedule, or casting news.

There are other projects that the creators can pursue, but these are not necessarily directly connected with Adolescence.

The show is known even to date through its awards, performances, and style of shooting.

Following its Golden Globe victories, Adolescence is still a very acclaimed limited series. It was proposed by Stephen Graham that, sometime in the future, the team might consider similar ideas; however, the show is not confirmed to be continued.

At least, the viewer may enjoy Adolescence as a complete piece of work that stands alone, with award-winning performances, good themes, and a unique one-shot shooting style.
