"We're going street": Project Runway judge Heidi Klum reveals the individual challenge in episode 6

Recently released Project Runway Season 21 Episode 6 featured the latest individual challenge. Episode 6, titled Hit the Streets, saw the remaining seven participants, including Antonio, Jesus, Belania, Yuchen, Joan, Ethan, and Veejay.

After the elimination at the beginning of the episode, viewers saw Madeline going home. Further, Project Runway judges Heidi Klum and Law Roach shared the details for their latest individual challenge.

Heidi Klum revealed that the next challenge would be to prepare streetwear.

"For your next individual challenge, we're going street. From runways of Milan, Paris, and New York City, to the digital landscape of social media, streetwear isn't having a moment. It's driving fashion."

The latest Project Runway episode started with an elimination. After Madeline Malenfant was sent home, the remaining designers on the show included Antonio Estrada, Jesus Estrada, Belania Delay, Yuchen Han, Joan Madison, Ethan Mundt, and Veejay Floresca.

The official synopsis for the recently released episode reads:

"The designers must step up their game as they are asked to create a streetwear look that speaks to their individual brand."

Heidi Klum met the participants to reveal the latest challenge. She congratulated them for making it past the halfway mark.

She invited fellow judge Law Roach to share more about the challenge and streetwear.

"So, designers, streetwear is not about a particular silhouette or style. It's a mindset. Streetwear can mix high fashion, raw elements, and details, and everything in between," said Law Roach.

Heidi added that the designers would be creating a "streetwear look." Listening to the judges, one of the designers, Ethan, shared his concerns.

"I have never done streetwear before. I'm a drag queen. I design for the stage. I'm designing for the runway in a club. Of course, I'm worried. I just really want to do a good job. I am not going to let streetwear trip me up."

Project Runway judge Heidi Klum also told the designers that they had one day to come up with their latest streetwear look.

Veejay reacted to another "one day" challenge and confessed:

"Another one day challenge? Are they trying to kill us?"

After judges Heidi and Law left, designers rushed to get started on their latest looks. They met with guest judge and designer Christian. He told the participants to go out in the streets to get "inspired." He advised them to take their sketchbooks and friction-erasable pens with them.

He also informed the designers that there would be male models for the challenge to represent their looks. Participants went out into the city and sketched out their ideas for their potential designs. After returning, they met Belania. She shared the budget for the challenge and more details.
