“We’re narrowing down where we’ll end up”: The White Lotus Season 4 gets a major update from executive producer

Audiences have been awaiting updates on The White Lotus Season 4 ever since the third installment concluded airing in April this year. The HBO anthology series takes the viewers to a new destination every season, where some elite guests arrive at a five-star resort for relaxation.

However, more often than not, things go wrong. The first three seasons took place in Hawaii, Sicily, and Thailand, respectively, and fans are now eager to find out where the production will move for the fourth season.

Executive producer David Bernad has now shared a major update on The White Lotus Season 4, revealing that the production team is now narrowing down their options for the resort location. He said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter:

“I think we’re narrowing down where we’ll end up, and we’re still kind of having those conversations, but I think it’s starting to come into focus.”

When asked about the theme of The White Lotus Season 4, David Bernad said he can not reveal anything as of now, but hinted that the subject will be culturally relevant. He also expressed his excitement over the script of the season, which is being written by creator Mike White:

“Nothing yet, but I am very excited for what Mike is working on and thinking about for season four. I think it’s going to speak to culture in a way that […] is going to be relevant. I don’t want to say too much [other than] I know what it is and where it’s going, and it’s really exciting and I think people will be happy about the direction of season four.”

The White Lotus has proven to be a major success for HBO. The recently released third season has grabbed a whopping 23 nominations at the Emmys this year. Talking about the recognition, Bernad said:

“It’s our third year, and the fact that people are still enjoying the show is a huge compliment to Mike White, especially for him to reinvent the show each season. It’s such a crazy task, and that he’s been able to do it these past three seasons and that we’ve been nominated speaks to how brilliant he is. Once the nominations came out, Mike and I called each other immediately.”

The White Lotus Season 4 will feature a fresh set of cast, which has not been finalized yet. The production and release dates of the show have also been kept under wraps for now. Meanwhile, the previous season set new viewership records for the series despite receiving criticism from a section of the audience for its supposed slow pacing.
