Paradise has come to be recognized as a successful show following its debut season premiere earlier this year. It is a testament to the show's popularity that Hulu and FX had ordered the renewal of the show for a sophomore season even before the conclusion of the first set of episodes.
Paradise stars Sterling K. Brown in the leading role as Agent Xavier Collins, and the show is helmed by creator Dan Fogelman. Both the star and the creator recently appeared for an interview with Deadline, during which they shed light on the production of the upcoming sophomore season, which is currently in the works.
Here's everything that you need to know.
Paradise season 2 is way on schedule
Both Fogelman and Brown were asked about the upcoming second season of Paradise and whether they could share any updates regarding the same. Fogelman answered:
"I’m literally finishing the finale right now of Season 2, writing. I also just got the first episodes of the edits and it’s so good. I’m so excited. We shoot two at a time, so we’re finishing three and four this week, and we start shooting five and six already next week. So, we’re pretty much at the halfway mark."
Although there isn't a potential release window for the second season now, it can be speculated that the new batch of episodes might be made available for streaming sometime next year. The second season is poised to comprise an ensemble cast alongside Brown, with Julianne Nicholson once again reprising her role of Sinatra. On the other hand, it isn't certain whether James Marsden will be a part of the upcoming season or not. Other than these names, Thomas Doherty and Shailene Woodley have also come on board the Hulu show, and the latest addition to the cast is that of This Is Us star Michelle Bathe.
Paradise creator Dan Fogelman opens up about his working relationship with Sterling K. Brown
During the same interview with Deadline, Fogelman was asked about his working relationship with Brown, to which he replied:
"I think Sterling and I have a lot of trust in one another. I trust his instincts as an actor, and I think he trusts me as a writer. I imagine there’s many times when Sterling’s going through scripts where things don’t quite maybe track for him, because that’s just inevitable. We’ve done so much television together that there has to have been scenes here and there where he’s like, “Oh, why is he doing this?”But he never really questions it. He kind of finds a way into it. It’s not a very verbal thing between us. It’s not like we talk about it a lot… It’s just an easy relationship."
He further added:
"It’s a pleasure when Sterling comes in the room to hang."
Paradise is available on Hulu.
