Perfect Match Season 3 Episode 5 featured yet another compatibility challenge. For that, couples head to see show host Nick Lachey for the activity. The challenge was called: Work That Pole.
After Nick explained how the couples had to stand on a structure hanging over water, at first, they were surprised. Cast members were excited but also nervous about the height of the structure and that it would be over water.
Reacting to the compatibility challenge in Perfect Match episode 5, AD confessed to the cameras:
"I think we've taken this show too far. This is no longer Perfect Match. This is a different show."
Perfect Match Season 3 Episode 5: Couples participate in the Work That Pole compatibility challenge
The fifth episode of Perfect Match Season 3 featured a compatibility challenge, Work That Pole. It was designed to test participants' physical chemistry with their partners.
"Today, we're gonna be testing your physical chemistry. This is a not-so-little game we like to call Work That Pole," said Nick Lachey.
Seeing the challenge setup and its name, one of the participants, AD, confessed to the cameras that the show had gone "too far." She was referring to the physical strain and how the structure would be in the air, over water.
Soon, the compatibility challenge set up started to rise and went above water. Sharing more about the challenge, Nick stated:
"You're gonna have to gyrate. Twerk. Whatever it takes to move that structure and drop those balls into the water. It'll be a lot of balls getting relieved. If anyone falls into the water, your couple is automatically disqualified from the competition."
Whichever couple could be able to drop all the balls in the water would win the challenge. Listening to Nick explaining the challenge, Perfect Match star Lucy confessed she was going to work hard on it.
For the challenge, couples had to stand on the structure that was filled with balls. There were holes in the structure through which balls could fall down when it was shaken. There was a pole in the middle, which they were holding on to and trying not to fall off. Soon, the structure went up on the water.
"This platform is, like, beyond unstable. Like, more unstable than my last relationship. Okay?" confessed Sandy.
Nick then started the challenge and told everyone to start gyrating. To distinguish couples, each platform and its balls was assigned a specific color:
- Madison and Freddie: Neon,
- Rachel and Scott: Orange,
- Sandy and Louis: Blue,
- Lucy and Daniel: Pink,
- AD and Ollie: Yellow.
While all the couples were trying to move it, no balls had dropped in the water yet. Rachel confessed that it was a "physics" issue that none of the balls from any of their platforms were falling.
Soon, Louis's moving around the platform resulted in the first ball dropping into the water. Ollie and AD also started with their first ball drop. The rest of the couples also started to drop their balls.
"Louis and Sandy are squarely in the lead," announced Nick.
However, soon Louis fell into the water and disqualified the Blue team from the challenge. With all the balls dropped in the water, Daniel and Lucy won the compatibility challenge.
