The Bold Type may have ended in 2021, but a revival could be closer than fans expect. At Comic-Con 2025, Katie Stevens confirmed that she and her co-stars Meghann Fahy and Aisha Dee are ready to return.
“I’m in,” she said, according to PEOPLE.
“Me, Meghann, and Aisha, every interview we do separately, we talk about how we want to do something Bold Type-related again, to do a movie or something. We’re all primed and ready to do it. So I’m just like, ‘We just need to get it out there that we want to do it and then have fans rally.’ Because there’s a lot of remakes of things happening and spinoffs of things, and I’m just like, ‘Let’s just do a Bold Type Hulu original movie or something!’”
This is the clearest sign yet that the cast is serious about revisiting The Bold Type. Four years after its finale, the series still resonates with audiences, and the actors remain deeply connected to each other and their characters.
Katie Stevens pushes for a spinoff movie
Stevens explained that the push for a Bold Type movie began with fan response. At Comic-Con, she admitted feeling unsure about how she would be received.
“I had imposter syndrome at Comic-Con, being like, ‘Will anyone here know me?’ Because I’ve never really done a sci-fi and I’ve never been in something like Marvel or DC,” she said. “And then I realized that Comic-Con is really just about fans.”

According to PEOPLE, fans repeatedly approached her to talk about The Bold Type, many saying they were rewatching the series with friends. Their enthusiasm motivated her to publicly call for a continuation. She suggested a standalone project rather than a full season, adding:
“Let’s just do a Bold Type Hulu original movie or something!”
The actress made it clear that this is not a solo effort. Meghann Fahy and Aisha Dee have also voiced support for a reunion.
“Every interview we do separately, we talk about how we want to do something Bold Type-related again,” she said.
The cast’s ongoing connection
Even as they pursue separate projects, the cast of The Bold Type have stayed close. Stevens described Fahy and Dee as “my girls for life” and explained how their friendships have carried on beyond the show.
She recently reunited with Aisha Dee after two years apart.
“Literally, I was in LA for less than 24 hours the other day, and I met up with Aisha,” Stevens told PEOPLE.
“We went to go get her ears pierced, which we’ve been talking about her doing for the last 10 years. And she sent me a really beautiful voice note.”

With Meghann Fahy, Stevens celebrated a major career milestone. She said she predicted Fahy’s Emmy nomination for her role in Sirens.
“I had watched Sirens and I was like, ‘Your performance is so amazing. You’re going to get nominated for an Emmy.’ And she was like, ‘No,’” Stevens said. “And then when the Emmy noms came out, I texted her all caps and said, ‘I told you so.’”
Stevens also shared that both co-stars have bonded with her daughter, Rome.
“They’ve both met my daughter and made such an effort to be a part of her life, and we just truly are a family,” she said.
Other cast members of The Bold Type are ready to return
Support for a revival of The Bold Type is not limited to the lead trio. In May 2023, Sam Page, who played Richard Hunter, also told PEOPLE that he would return
“absolutely.”
He reflected on his time working with Fahy, saying,
“It was so much fun. I loved working with Meghann. It was the best.”
Page even discussed what a spinoff might look like. He imagined Sutton Brady, Fahy’s character, launching her fashion line and explored what the story could tackle.
“It would be an exploration… of why somebody in a position like Sutton’s can’t have it all because they’re a woman, and why you can’t have the family [and] the extreme level of success of her business, of her fashion design,” he explained.
With multiple stars open to the idea, Stevens’ call for a Bold Type Hulu movie aligns with a wider interest in revisiting the world of Scarlet Magazine.
If fans rally behind it, The Bold Type could be headed for a new chapter.
