It's a fateful Wednesday as the Addams family and the Nevermore kids reunite for the first half of the second season. However, one of the familiar faces from the Nevermore group of students was missing in the first half of the episodes, and his absence was explained in the show and by the creators.

The Netflix hit returned with the first part of the second season on the streaming network on August 6, and it has been an instant hit with fans, new and old. As viewers get into the new set of episodes, with the old cast coming together and some new additions, one absence was noted from Season 2.

Percy Hynes White's Xavier was noticeably absent in the first set of episodes from Wednesday Season 2, and it appears he won't be seen again in Season 2. Here's how the show and the creators have explained his absence.

Percy Hynes White's Xavier's absence on Wednesday Season 2

The Addams teenager went down the path of romance and was at the center of a love triangle, no less, in the first season, and while one of those sides turned out to be a hyde, there were nonetheless a lot of sparks between Addams and Xavier. Xavier's parting gift to Addams at the end of their first year and Season 1, a cell phone to keep in touch with her, was also the beginning of some fireworks.

So, it came as a disappointment to fans when they found out that Percy Hynes White's Xavier would not be returning to the second season of the Netflix hit. His absence is explained on the show when the principal announces that Xavier's father pulled him from Nevermore Academy, and all the money he poured into the school is also gone, leaving behind an empty space for the Addams matriarch to fill, maybe.

This decision, as explained in the first episode, was owing to the fake murder allegations that his son was charged with in the first season. Co-showrunner Alfred Gough also confirmed this statement in a conversation with TVLine when he said:

"we have seen the last of him. [He is] at a boarding school we mentioned in Season 1, Reichenbach, which is like the European version of Nevermore."

It is also revealed in the first episode that Xavier did try to keep up with Wednesday over the break, but she never replied or reached out to him. Considering the betrayal she had to face in Season 1 after finding out Tyler's identity, it is very on-brand of her. If her first foray into any semblance of "normal, teenage romance" resulted in the havoc that we witnessed in the first season, it's understandable that she is wary of any such advances.

Nevertheless, she and Tyler still share some red-hot electric sparks between them, however much she despises him. So maybe some romance is still in the cards for our Wednesday.
