The most-watched series on Netflix right now, Wednesday Season 2, is due for another terrifying update with the release of the second part of the season on September 3. Fans are obsessively going over every single detail in the first four episodes of the season, which premiered on August 6, making it the most-watched series on the streamer at the moment, followed only by its predecessor, Season 1.

As fans are excitedly waiting for the second part of the second season, the streamer has released a brand-new trailer before its release. To make things even more exciting, the trailer reveals the return from the dead of one of the favorite characters in Season 1. However, this return from the grave is not as straightforward as it sounds, as things never are when it comes to the Addams family.

Netflix teases a return from the dead in the Wednesday Season 2 Part 2 trailer

With 50 million views worldwide, the Wednesday obsession doesn't seem to be slowing down anytime soon. To make things even more exciting, Gwendoline Christie's Larissa Weems is making a comeback to the show after her unfortunate death in the first season. One might think that, with the number of supernatural things happening in the show, it could revive Principal Weems from the dead, and it wouldn't be a big deal.

However, the showrunners don't seem to be messing with the canon of the Addams family, and instead of making Principal Weems return to the living and undo her death, she has returned as Wednesday's spirit guide.

To recap, Wednesday's original spirit guide was her distant ancestor, Goody Addams. She was born 400 years before our Addams teenager and had psychic abilities similar to hers. She lived in Jericho and returned to the Addams teenager as her spirit guide when she got to Nevermore Academy.

Throughout the first season, the Addams teenager has visions of her predecessor, and as she discovers the horrors hidden in and around Jericho, it's her spirit guide, Goody, who, in a final vision, saves her from a possibly fatal wound.

This is the last we see of Goody as the spirit guide, but the trailer for Wednesday Season 2 Part 2 revealed that the former Principal Weems will be taking Goody's place as Addams' spirit guide. Weems is only visible on Wednesday, and not even Enid can see her in the trailer.

Considering the position that Wednesday ends up in after that cliffhanger of an ending of Part 1, even though she'll never accept it, she is in dire need of some help. Additionally, her relationship with Weems was an exceptional dynamic in the first season, so it will be exciting to watch that chemistry come back to life again.

In an additional note, Netflix has been teasing Lady Gaga's appearance on Season 2 for a long time, but she was noticeably absent from the first part and the trailer for the second part. However, eagle-eyed fans are convinced that we hear Gaga's voice-over in the tail end of the trailer. Additionally, there are also theories that Gaga will be playing Morticia's sister, Aunt Ophelia, but we'll have to hold our breath until September 3 to find out.
