Wednesday Season 2 is here, and among the beloved characters fans waited to return are Enid Sinclair and Ajax Petropolus. The two were the sweetest couple in Season 1, known for shy smiles, awkward moments, and a kiss under the Nevermore that rain made fans root for them.
However, things don't remain the same between Enid and Ajax. The way their story unfolds leads fans and viewers to think whether they are still together or did their relationship hit a rough patch off-screen.
It’s revealed in Wednesday Season 2 Part 1 that Enid and Ajax have officially broken up. Enid finally came to terms with the fact that her feelings were rooted more in insecurity than genuine love.

Enid breaks up with Ajax in Wednesday Season 2 Part 1
Apart from the love triangle between Wednesday, Xavier, and Tyler, fans were equally drawn to Enid Sinclair’s sweet connection with Ajax Petropolus. But that dynamic belonged to Season 1.
In Wednesday Season 2, Enid has grown into a more mature and confident young woman who is no longer the girl who once felt insecure around her fellow outcast, Ajax. Though Ajax did fall for her by the end of Season 1, the summer break gave Enid time to reflect on her feelings.
After finally embracing her identity as a werewolf, she went through a major transformation, one that helped her grow emotionally and better understand herself. This growth made her realize that she no longer felt the same way about Ajax.
Still, Enid found it difficult to be honest with him, as she was worried about hurting his feelings. So, in the earlier episodes of Wednesday Season 2 Part 1, she decided to avoid facing him.
But in Episode 3, "Call of the Woe", the students set off for an adventure day in the jungle, where Ajax asks Enid about their breakup. Enid says:
"You were right, Ajax. I should have told you when school started that my feelings had changed."
Ajax asks if he did something wrong, to which Enid replies:
"No. Just over the Summer, I realized I wasn't that insecure girl who thought she'd never fit in... And she wolfed out. And found herself."
Ajax understands where Enid is coming from, but expresses that she should’ve at least talked to him before deciding to move on. He brings up a moment at Uriah’s Heap, where Enid had said, "I guess squirrels and rats can’t work out after all." With that painful memory still lingering, Ajax quietly walks away.
