Wednesday Season 2 has arrived and fans have been eagerly watching the next chapter of the popular Netflix series. Based on the characters by Charles Addams, Wednesday Season 2, is a gothic mystery thriller featuring Jenna Ortega, Riki Lindhome, Hunter Doohan, and others. The first season of the show focused on Wednesday (Ortega), who tries to adapt in her new school and solve a murder mystery.
In Wednesday Season 2, the titular character is once again on an adventure and solving a mysterious killing spree in her town. The show’s first part released on August 6, 2025 and the second half will release on September 3, 2025. In an interview with Variety, Hunter Doohan, who plays the character of Tyler/Hyde in Season 2, talks about his character’s fate and regretting not meeting Lady Gaga.
Wednesday Season 2: Hunter Doohan shares interesting details about his character on the show
In season 2, Hunter Doohan’s character is important as in the last episode of part 1, his character Tyler transforms into Hyde and kills his master Marilyn (played by Christina Ricci). Tyler also throws Wednesday from a window and viewers see an unconscious Wednesday, while Hyde runs into the forest.
Speaking about his character, Doohan mentions that “there’s so much more to come about the big mysteries of the season…Tyler has a crazy arc…we learned that Hyde can’t survive without a master, so he has no idea what he’s done to himself yet.” Doohan comments about Marilyn being killed off, “Tyler had to be separated…their bond was weakening…he’s got to get rid of her to be his true self.”
When spoken to about what he thought of the script of the show's season 2, Doohan mentions that, “they really dial up on every aspect…I was really excited that there’s even more Addams Family stuff infused into it.” Doohan also talks about how he was shown sketches of what Hyde would look like. “They showed me the drawing Tim Burton drew of the Hyde, which was so cool. The I went to his exhibit in London…and there’s one of his original sketches of the Hyde on his board.” Further, the actor talks about how he gets ready to play the character. “I do act out the beginning stages of the transformation” and then Tim Burton told him to do his interpretive dance the way he likes it. Finally, the CGI comes in.
Hunter Doohan on internet virality and his regret of not meeting Lady Gaga
In the interview, Doohan was asked about the viral moment in Wednesday Season 2, where he goes shirtless and how it has led to hashtags. The actor says that, “I think Al and Miles, our amazing writers, know what they’re doing…they know how to make fun TV. Reading the scripts was funny. It was, ‘chained up, shirtless, sweaty.’ I was like, ‘Are we doing pants?’ I was like, ‘this is going to be interesting.’
Ultimately, the actor shared that he was deeply regretful over not meeting Lady Gage on the sets of Wednesday Season 2 when she filmed her guest spot for the show. “I’m the one gay guy on the show, and I didn’t get to meet Gaga,” he mentions.
