Wednesday Season 2 to reveal a “deep connection” between Pugsley and the main villain

The Addams Family serves as the inspiration for the spooky mystery comedy series Wednesday, a series created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar. Tim Burton was the director of four of the first season's episodes. The lead of the series is played by Jenna Ortega.

The series debuted on Netflix on November 23, 2022 and was well-reviewed, especially for Ortega's performance. The second season is all set to air in two installments in August and September 2025.

Wednesday Season 2 will disclose Pugsley Addams' close connection to the main villain, signaling a significant shift in his role. "My powers and the main villain for this season are connected. Pugsley has a very deep connection with the main villain. There's something I do with my powers [that connects us], I think I can say that. They really dive into their connection and their story together. I definitely have quite a bit of screen time with Eugene this season, and then one other new character that we get to see."

He was seen as eccentric and humorous in earlier versions, but season 2 will present him as more emotionally nuanced character who is essential to the story. Wednesday stepped in as Pugsley's tenacious protector during Season 1, which depicted Pugsley as sensitive and frequently in need of defense from bullies. Cast of Wednesday Season 2

Season 2 will contain a mix of returning and new cast members. Jenna Ortega will reprise her role as Wednesday Addams, with Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, and Isaac Ordonez, whose character Pugsley will have a greater role.

Several characters from Season 1 will return, including Uncle Fester (Fred Armisen) and Lurch (George Burcea). New cast members are also joining the show. These are Evie Templeton, Steve Buscemi, and Billie Piper.

Additionally, a new member of the Addams family will be revealed. Season two will premiere on Netflix in August and September 2025.
