Wednesday Season 1 had a blockbuster reception and reigned as the most-watched series for the streamer for a long time, so when the second season was announced, fans were excited, but at the same time, there was a nervousness around it, mostly because of the sophomore slump.
Come August 2025, the first volume of the sophomore season of the fan-favorite show premiered, and fans were over the moon to find out that it had bypassed the slump and managed to retain and expand on all of the elements that made the show blow up the first time.
However, there was one thing that the first volume of the second season had not managed to improve upon. Jenna Ortega's dance sequence to Goo Goo Muck in the first season continued to reign.
It wasn't until the second volume drop in September that fans realized that Wednesday Season 2 had achieved the impossible and possibly created a better dance sequence than the iconic Goo Goo Muck performance in the first season.
The Wednesday Season 2 dance sequence

The Wednesday Season 2 dance sequence was featured in the tail end of the season, specifically, the seventh episode, titled 'Woe Me the Money.' This time around, it isn't Jenna Ortega's titular Addams who performs the dance sequence. Instead, the two girls who reigned this season with their epic enemies-to-friends journey take the stage during the Nevermore Gala with an epic performance of Lady Gaga's 'The Dead Dance,' a song that Gaga released on the same day as the Season 2 Volume 2 premiere.
In contrast to Jenna Ortega's solo dance in the first season, this time around, Emma Myers' Enid Sinclair and Evie Templeton's Agnes DeMille take the stage for the dance sequence.
The fact that this was a brand-new, unreleased Lady Gaga song that the duo performed on continues to dazzle the young actors, as expressed by Myers:
"It was insane. It was most fun I’ve had shooting a sequence. It was just such a cool experience, and such an honor to get to do it to a Lady Gaga song like that."
Templeton went on to add that it was an absolutely unbelievable moment for her:
"It was an honor to get to dance to a Lady Gaga song. To be honest, I still can’t really believe that it happened. It’s definitely a pinch-me moment."
This duo is especially iconic because the second season started out with Agnes almost putting Enid's life in danger in order to get Wednesday's attention and impress her.
However, by the end of the season, Agnes goes through a quest of self-discovery, one that she's helped in by Enid, to get to a place where she stops "hero-worshipping" Wednesday and actually behaves as herself instead of embodying the titular Addams. Moments before the performance, Enid had almost decided not to perform, but Agnes's motivation and support led to the iconic duo taking the stage for an iconic performance.
The dance sequence was an almost ethereal performance, with Agnes using her invisibility powers in the midst to make it appear as if Enid was dancing in the air. (The duo also ends up completing an important mission for Wednesday throughout the performance, but hey, no spoilers.)
Even though this dance sequence was absolutely incredible this season, there's something about the deadpan performance from Ortega to Goo Goo Muck that managed to leave an everlasting impact on pop culture. We'll have to wait until Season 3 to find out if anything else can compete with Season 1.
