In November 2022, Netflix launched the supernatural mystery and coming-of-age series Wednesday. Inspired by the Addams Family, the show combines gothic horror, dark comedy, and teen angst to craft a haunting story that has captivated viewers worldwide.

Gwendoline Christie plays Principal Larissa Weems, a series protagonist. She runs Nevermore Academy, which is for outcasts with superpowers. With her commanding presence and complex background, Weems guides Wednesday Addams and safeguards the school's legacy while handling difficult relationships with other characters.

Barry Dort, played by Steve Buscemi, becomes the principal in Season 2 after Weems' untimely death. Dort dies tragically at the end of the season, leaving Nevermore Academy without a leader again. As a result, Wednesday Season 3 will focus on replacing another key figure with a new principal likely to shape the academy's future.

The show's power struggles and mysteries have always revolved around the principal of Nevermore Academy. In Season 1, Larissa Weems led the story with her authority and intriguing appeal.

Laurel Gates killed her, shocking viewers and creating a leadership void at the school. This unexpected event allowed Season 2 to introduce Steve Buscemi as Barry Dort, the new principal. Dort appeared friendly and supportive, embracing the school's “outcast pride” and promising a new era for Nevermore.

Later in the season, Dort's true intentions came to light. As the Morning Song cult leader, he secretly manipulated events and threatened students and staff. In the final scene, Gorgon pupil Ajax turned him to stone before a crashing chandelier killed him. Dort's departure leaves the school without a principal once again.

The third season will center on this crucial position of leadership. Introducing a new principal might shake up Nevermore and provide fresh mysteries and tensions, according to the showrunners.

Following the crucial roles played by Weems and Dort in the show's narrative, another principal is expected to play a significant role in Wednesday's episode. The casting for this key role has fans on the edge of their seats, with options ranging from new characters to surprising cameos by familiar faces. The story will change significantly as a result of this transformation, and next season will feature intense power struggles.

Luis Guzmán as Gomez, Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia, Joy Sunday as Bianca, Hunter Doohan as Tyler, and Emma Myers as Enid will all return. With Pugsley playing a bigger role and questions about Principal Weems and Lurch taking center stage, the season also introduces new dynamics.
