To top it all off, Ginny suspected that her mother might be pregnant again.
All in all, the third season of Ginny & Georgia ended with several cliffhangers and storylines that need to be explored in the fourth season. Here’s everything we know so far.
Brianne Howey drops exciting news about Ginny & Georgia season 4
A recent update from February of this year revealed that the show’s official Instagram page posted a photo collage of the creative team assembling on a call for the fourth season’s writing room. Ginny & Georgia star Brianne Howey recently sat down with Perri Nemiroff for an episode of Collider Ladies Night, during which she was asked if she could provide any updates about the upcoming fourth season of the Netflix original show.
Howey mentioned that production on the fourth season is slated to begin later this year. It typically takes a Netflix original show about five months to finish filming, followed by approximately nine months of post-production work.
Howey also revealed that Ginny & Georgia received a dual-renewal earlier in 2023, and both the third and fourth seasons were ordered together by Netflix. She stated that this brought her a sense of relief, knowing the show had more storylines to explore beyond Season 3. Howey remarked:
"It's such a privilege, and it's not a situation I've ever been in before. It was so thrilling. You can almost relax a little bit in knowing we have more story to tell. You get to trust the process a little bit more because you know what certain payoffs are going to be."
Creator and EP shed light on Ginny & Georgia season 3
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Screen Rant, Ginny & Georgia creator Sarah Lampert and Executive Producer Sarah Glinski shared their insights and the creative decisions that influenced this season’s high-stakes storylines. Lampert noted:
"We just totally went there. We exploded the world. We revealed the secrets of the main character. We don't want it to feel stale. We want it to always be moving and shifting and evolving because at the end of the day, whether she's in jail or not, that's not even the interesting story. The interesting story is her relationships, specifically her relationships with her kids. Putting them through the wringer like that, it's really all to service the growth of their relationships.”
Similarly, Glinski stated:
"It was important this season for Georgia to realize that her actions have consequences on her kids. We can see very much that going into episode 10; her actions have had huge consequences on Ginny and on Austin, and she'll have to live with that in season 4. It's going to be rough for Austin because of the guilt of having to choose between his mom and his dad - and then ultimately choosing his mom, but losing his dad."
