Love Is Blind Habibi stars Ammar and Karma were one of the six couples who got engaged in the pods during the debut season of this spin-off. Ammar and Karma, both joined the show, just like the other singles to find their future partner. The couple rode together for a while, but their differentiating opinions caused a rift, finally making them part ways.
Ammar who is a Dentist by profession, was clear about the qualities he wanted in his wife. Before entering the pods in Love Is Blind Habibi, he told the cameras:
"I am more on a classic side. If a girl wants to get married, she should give her time to her partner or husband."
Karma, on the other hand, exhibited a more fun and bubbly persona along with the ability to pierce deep into emotions. She was looking for someone who could handle her strong personality. The couple was first to get engaged in the pods in episode 2 of Love Is Blind Habibi and started on a lovely note. However, when they left the pods and entered the real world to discuss more important matters of life, the couple hit a block.
Ammar seemed uncomfortable with Karma's fun nature and asked her to tone down in front of other men. He expressed that he would not like her to behave like this in front of other men.
The boiling point reached when Ammar expressed that Karma should not pursue dancing and acting as her career options. Karma decided to part ways and the couple called off their engagement in episode 6.
Ammar called Karma's dancing a 'trivial issue', leading to their break up in Love Is Blind Habibi.
In episode 6 of Love Is Blind Habibi, Ammar and Karma decided to hit the reality check and discuss some pertinent issues regarding their priorities in life. Episode 6 was all about couples being vulnerable about their personalities, passions, and what they hold important in their lives. Ammar took the opportunity to express unease with Karma's dancing professional, calling it 'unacceptable' in the Arab society.
Karma, who is an entrepreneur by profession expressed her passion towards pursuing dancing and acting as a career as well. This did not sit well with Ammar, who claimed to be of classic views.
He came to the show to find a wife, who would keep her husband and family first. He was disappointed that Karma wanted to convince him about her dancing career knowing he did not appreciate such qualities in women.
The two started the conversation while they were on a date, and Ammar made sure that she would have to be ready for his reaction. Karma nodded with an 'of course' and said,
"So, we disagreed on the issue of dancing, yes?"
She further continued and added:
"And you told me that you would never in your life accept this?"
Ammar replied that he was clear from the start that this was a big no for him, and pointed out that dancing as a profession would not be accepted by the Arab society. Karma told him that after thinking through it, she had decided that they should not be together. This made Ammar a little upset, and he commented that it would make her life difficult if she prioritized something trivial like dance over love.
However, Love Is Blind Habibi star Karma had her reasons and told him that for her dance is an art form and not something trivial. She said:
"Let me tell you why it is right. Every person in the world has their own identity. It is what makes them who they are. They sometimes have to sacrifice their relationship for something important. What you called a trivial issue, it's not trivial for me."
Karma walked away in peace and did not regret her decision at all. Ammar, on the other hand, appeared salty as he refused a goodbye hug from Karma.
Love Is Blind Habibi premiered on October 10 on Netflix.
