The Righteous Gemstones is known to have a non-linear storyline. It often jumps from the present to the past and vice versa to explain the addition or presence of a few characters. In season four's sixth episode, Interlude IV, we get to see Cobb Milsap, Lori Milsap's ex-husband. He is shown as one of the few characters who want nothing to do with the Gemstones and their fame. At the end of the episode, Cobb vandalizes the Gemstones' house, steals Elijah's gold bible, and disappears from the lives of Lori and the Gemstones.

Lori was introduced in the latest season of The Righteous Gemstones as Aimee-Leigh's best friend. However, her relationship with Eli and the death of her ex-boyfriends have made her a topic of discussion. The Gemstone children do not like her, and she might be connected to all the unexplained deaths in episode 5 of season four, You Shall Remember. The flashback episode showing her relationship with Cobb adds further layers to her character, helping us understand her better.

Who is Cobb Milsap in The Righteous Gemstones?

Cobb Milsap is the ex-husband of Lori Milsap. We see him for the first time in the sixth episode of the latest season of The Righteous Gemstones. As portrayed in the episode, Cobb and Lori had a troubled marriage, which ended in a divorce. He also had a drinking problem and was often violent. The Righteous Gemstones does not confirm if he is dead or alive in the present time; he just disappears. It opens up the possibility of him returning in future episodes.

Cobb and Lori had divorced, and then Lori went on to date other men. Episode five of The Righteous Gemstones season four showed that Lori's several ex-boyfriends died mysteriously. Since Lori was connected to all of them, fans initially suspected her to be the killer. However, the very next episode introduced Cobb to the show, making fans suspect him as the killer. Besides, Eli and Lori get threatened by an unknown person, who could be Cobb.

Cobb is a person of interest concerning the murders because he has a history of losing his temper and being violent. Besides, he might be harboring vengeful feelings against his ex-wife, Lori, and trying to ruin her life. Netizens have also noticed the eerie presence of alligators in the episode. Cobb owned a reptile farm where alligators were widely popular. Their presence in the episode could be a sign that Cobb is still alive and running the farm, probably also feeding his alligators bodies of people he has killed.

Cobb Milsap is most probably going to appear in future episodes of The Righteous Gemstones. He has not been declared dead on the show; he just disappears. Besides, it would be strange to introduce him on the show in a flashback episode with no follow-ups.

Cobb is played by Michael Rooker. Since the flashback takes place in 2002, Michel wears a wig to portray a young Cobb. But if Cobb was supposed to be on the show only in the flashbacks, the creators would have hired someone younger to play the role. The fact that they hired Michael and put a wig on him suggests that they might bring back Michael as the older Cobb and wanted both versions of Cobb to be played by the same actor.

We cannot say for sure what awaits Cobb Milsap's fate in the future. Only future episodes of The Righteous Gemstones can tell us what happens to Cobb.
