Fallout Season 1 is a post-apocalyptic drama show that is based on the video game franchise created by Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky. Featuring Ella Purnell, Aron Moten, and others, Fallout Season 1 is created by Graham Wagner and Geneva Robertson-Dworet.

The show has one season and premiered on Amazon Prime Video in 2024. The series was a critical and commercial hit and was noted for its performances, visuals, writing, and accuracy as it was taken from a video game. The show is set after the fictitious Great War of 2077, where a deadly nuclear war between US and China has ruined human society and created a nuclear holocaust. The show reveals that human survivors now live in fallout bunkers that are known as vaults.

Played by Aaron Moten, Maximus, is a member of the Brotherhood of Steel in Fallout Season 1. He is one of the central characters in the show and his name is given to him by the Brotherhood. The character’s childhood is also revealed in flashbacks and it is shown that Maximus saw the destruction of his city due to a nuclear weapon and he met the Brotherhood knight for the first time.

Maximus did not live in the vaults and grew up above ground. The character is strong and ferocious and has a cynical attitude towards authority. In the show, Maximus has recently been elevated to the rank of a squire and he is sent by his Brotherhood, along with a knight, and his mission makes him collide paths with Lucy and the Ghoul.

As Maximus was orphaned due to the nuclear attack, he was saved by the Brotherhood and was given a chance to rise through the ranks and secure a livelihood for himself. However, Maximus has a tough life at the Brotherhood as other men bully him. Fallout Season 1 often shows flashbacks of the hard and traumatic life of Maximus.

In the show, Maximus and Knight Titus are ordered to search for Siggi Wilzig, who is a member of the Enclave on the lam, and he has an artifact that is extremely important. Maximus and Titus also have a strained relationship as Titus often bullies Maximus around. However, Maximus ends up meeting Lucy and the Ghoul and the trio become important characters in the series.

What happens to Maximus in Fallout Season 1?

Towards the end of Fallout Season 1, Maximus has now built a romantic relationship with Lucy and goes on many adventures with her and the Ghoul. Towards the end however, he is attacked by Hank and gets unconscious. When he awakens, Lucy has left with the Ghoul to pursue Hank. Moldaver explains to Maximus that if the Brotherhood gets unlimited energy , they could get corrupted by their newfound power.

While Moldaver dies, Dane finds Maximus with her corpse and thinks that Maximus has killed Moldaver. This leads to Maximus being favored for the position of Knight Maximus in the Brotherhood. All the Brotherhood people hail him as a hero, even though Maximus is not happy with the outcome. Therefore, it remains to be seen how Maximus will move forward in the next season.
