Owen Wilson is arguably one of the greatest actors in Hollywood. Apart from his comic timing and acting prowess, the one element that instantly makes Owen Wilson recognizable is the distinctive appearance of his nose. It is a known fact that the Zoolander star broke his nose not once but twice. Ever since then, he has, time and again, answered questions about his nose in his characteristic snappy and humorous style.

Here's everything that you need to know.

Owen Wilson broke his nose twice

A 2001 feature story in The Los Angeles Times saw Owen Wilson addressing the questions about his broken nose for the first time. Wilson had revealed that he broke his nose for the first time back in childhood as he was "goofing" around with his friends. The second time that he broke his nose, Wilson was in college, attending the University of Texas. In answer to a statement that referred to him looking "slightly disfigured" on account of his broken nose, Wilson had aptly retorted:

"You know, probably my nose wouldn't have been that great even if it hadn't been broken."

Wilson also took up the issue of his broken nose while appearing on Wired Magazine's YouTube series The Web's Most Searched Questions. While answering one of the popular questions asking him about how he happened to break his nose, Wilson revealed:

"At University of Texas, yeah, playing intermural flag football and I got banged. But also, I think just, like, as a kid, just rough-housing."

Such quirky answers are a regular part of Wilson's retinue as he is considered one of the funniest actors working in Hollywood. Alongside his brothers Andrew and Luke, both of whom are actors as well, Wilson has come to carve out a place for himself. Wilson's frequent collaborations with Wes Anderson and Ben Stiller have given him considerable mileage, and his performances across The Royal Tenenbaums, The Darjeeling Limited, and A Night At The Museum continue to be remembered to this day.

Owen Wilson opened up about his mental health struggles

Speaking in an interview with Vanity Fair magazine, Wilson had shed light on his 2007 suicide attempt, mental health, and struggles with depression:

"Sometimes it seems like life is being played by Gene Hackman in Hoosiers. Tough but fair. He’s going to demand a lot, but if you play as a team and do your job, things work out. That’s a good feeling. Things make sense. Sometimes life seems to be played by Tom Hardy in The Revenant, some nightmarish guy trying to kill you, where even if you get the upper hand. He’s still going to be there at the end whispering, ‘This ain’t gonna bring your boy back’ or your dad back or any good times from your past back. Or whatever. And when life’s being played by that guy, you just gotta hang on and wait for it to pass.’”
