Netflix’s Perfect Match season 3 introduced new twists and relationships that kept viewers engaged until the finale. Among the late-season developments, Rachel Recchia and Ray Gantt returned just before the final challenge.
Despite being one of the newest couples in the villa, they demonstrated strong compatibility and outperformed more established pairs. Many raised questions about whether their connection could continue outside the show.
Rachel and Ray have pursued their respective careers while maintaining some level of contact. Recent comments from Rachel suggest that post-show interactions among cast members, including possible romantic reconnections, have kept the Perfect Match season 3 cast in touch well after cameras stopped rolling.
Rachel Recchia and Ray Gantt’s post-Perfect Match season 3 update
Rachel Recchia entered Perfect Match season 3 as one of the new contestants. Her first date was with Freddie Powell, but he was already matched with Madison, and the pairing remained intact.
Upon returning to the villa, Rachel discovered her ex from The Bachelor, Clayton Echard, had also joined the season. The two had an initial conversation in which Clayton expressed interest in rekindling their relationship, but he later changed his mind, leaving Rachel feeling betrayed.
Soon after, Rachel went on a date with Love Island UK alum Scott van-der-Sluis. They matched for two mixers in a row, but Rachel began questioning the authenticity of their connection.
Ray Gantt arrived in the villa during this period, and the two began to talk more frequently. Ray expressed that their intermittent spark could develop into something real. Faced with the choice between staying with someone fun or pursuing someone who made her feel secure, Rachel matched with Ray.
Inside their journey and where they stand now
On August 5, 2025, during an appearance on the Viall Files podcast, Rachel Recchia shared that Perfect Match season 3 relationships continued to evolve after filming ended. She noted that at Netflix’s “Summer Break” press event in July 2025,
“There’s a lot still going on, like, even just from that Netflix [Summer Break] event… There’s a lot happening. Oh, my God, there might have been more drama at that Netflix event [than on the show]. There’s still stuff going on, [even though] filming was a year ago.”
Rachel explained that many Perfect Match couples who had broken up during or after the show ended up reconnecting at the event. “Lots of people fighting [and] couples getting back together,” she said, without naming anyone specifically.
When host Nick Viall asked whether she had personally rekindled a Perfect Match romance, Rachel did not confirm or deny. At that point in the season, she had matched with Clayton Echard and Scott van-der-Sluis, and had gone on a date with Freddie Powell.
“Maybe not Freddie,” Rachel answered. “But who knows? I might be talking to someone.” She added, “You guys know I love a second chance and a third and a fourth! I am just so full of forgiveness.”
