Stacy Beale does not merely play the role of the fed in Tulsa King, she is the shot of adrenaline that keeps driving Dwight Manfredi in his new life in Oklahoma. Stacy is clever, unattached, and dedicated to work, tending to be the most responsible person in the room—until Dwight comes along and throws her orientation out the window. Stacy sees Dwight's old-school side and his flashes of tenderness, but she can also see that Dwight poses a threat to Tulsa. This places her as the moral center of Tulsa King. As she grows closer to him, she threatens her badge, and when she dedicates herself more to her badge, she threatens whatever actual connection they share. When things escalate (biker wars, bodies, and an increasing business), she becomes the very person who can change the future of Dwight and all he has. Dwight comes to see her later and gives her a flash drive with $1 million in it as a way of thanking her for her assistance and as a safety net after her injury. When the ATF offers Stacy a chance to save her career on the condition that she takes action, she reacts in favor of her responsibilities. She arrests Dwight at the opening of his new casino with charges of attempting to bribe a federal agent. The episode comes to a close with a surprise: Dwight handcuffed, Elton John's "Tiny Dancer" playing in the background, and the audience wondering what is to happen next.

The courtroom fallout

In the first few episodes of Tulsa King Season 2, the plot returns to the flash drive. Was it a bribe or a poorly considered present? Dwight is acquitted of his charges because Stacy's statement in court proves that he did not actually bribe her. He is found not guilty, leaving him innocent of the offense but straining things between them: she had reported him, but he was set free.

Stacy had to face some consequences too. In Season 2, Episode 3, she bids Dwight farewell in a hallway, telling him that she is being transferred to Anchorage, Alaska. It is a kind of exile for her career; the badge might not be taken, but her position in the city is compromised. Her ending is bittersweet.
