After over two decades of a successful run on the radio, The Bert Show is finally coming to an end. The show's iconic host, Bert Weiss, recently announced his retirement and the show's conclusion next month. Bert Weiss revealed that the show's final episode will broadcast on Friday, October 24, 2025. It must feel like the end of an era for his fans, who have been following his work on or off the show.
Besides working on a string of headline-making episodes, Weiss is also known for his humanitarian work through his non-profit organization, Bert’s Big Adventure. Speaking about his exit from The Bert Show, Weiss shared a heartfelt statement. According to RadioInsight, it reads:
“For 25 years, listeners have allowed me to be part of their mornings, their commutes, and their lives – and that is the greatest gift of my career. It’s almost unheard of in radio for an audience to stay with a show this long, and I’ll never take that loyalty for granted. Every laugh, every tough conversation, and every shared moment has meant the world to me.”
While The Bert Show continued for nearly twenty-five years, the host has decided to step away from his position at the show, while focusing on the charitable work of his non-profit organization.

Bert Weiss has been a radio show host with a unique style, but his reputation extends beyond what he has achieved in the show business. Through his non-profit, he has helped several children find joy through his valuable contributions.
Addressing his retirement, he also shared a note on Bert's Big Adventure's Instagram profile. In the caption, he wrote:
“As you may have heard this morning on The Bert Show, after 25 incredible years, I have decided to step away from radio. It’s been a spectacular run, but I’m ready to move on to a new chapter of my life. But let me be clear - I’m not going anywhere when it comes to Bert’s Big Adventure!"
He added:
"Whether you are a Bert’s Big Adventure family, or a volunteer, a donor, or a corporate partner- the message is the same: The magic we’ve built together is not ending, it’s growing.”
Besides him, Brian Philips, the CCO of Cumulus Media, the home to his morning show, said:
“We launched Bert and team with a loose plan to electrify Atlanta radio with a bold, buzzing morning show on a brand-new Top 40 station, operating on a then-unreliable ‘move-in’ signal from Anniston, Alabama."
Philips continued:
“In the ensuing 25 years, Bert emerged as the obsessive architect of humor, truthfulness, and humanitarianism. Withbrilliant help from a hand-picked, evolving team, he built a national award-winning powerhouse. ‘The Bert Show Era’ is a historic chapter in Atlanta – and American – radio. As he reimagined the possibilities of morning entertainment, I’m sure he will attack retirement with wild, fun originality. Thank you, Bert."
According to RadioInsight, Weiss hinted that he hopes his co-host, Kristin Klingshirn, continues working on the show with the current team.
