Atomic Episode 2 gets into the thick of it, with Danny Lopez (a sly character from Venezuela who had Max and Mohammed on the run in the first episode) meeting a nasty end. The show keeps you on the edge of your seat with spy games, tense drug scenes, and nuclear anxiety. Danny's death changes everything.
The episode has all the good stuff: CIA secrets, a heart-racing chase through the streets of Beirut, and the reveal that the object of their affection and conflict, the statues, are full of uranium!
So get ready, and gear up, because Danny's downfall is just the beginning.
And spoiler alert: Danny gets into trouble, to say the least!
Atomic starts with Cassandra Bryce, who you'd think is an average university professor, but surprise: she's a CIA agent! She gets dragged in when word gets out that 50 kilos of uranium is being passed around on the black market.
At the same time, Max and Mohammed are playing with these radioactive statues while fielding calls from Antonio Alam, a cartel boss. He's not a regular caller, though --- he's got Max's girlfriend and uses her as a bargaining chip. Danny's job is to get that uranium back; he's getting more stressed as things heat up.
How does Danny die in Atomic Episode 2?
Max and Mohammed’s adventures lead them to an old, run-down building, and boy, do things go haywire there. Danny’s goons grab both of them, and Danny goes all out with his usual rough pounding on Max for intel.
Meanwhile, Mohammed’s on drugs, babbling away, which is when the DEA crashes the party. This scene creates a distraction, and Max finds his chance. Surprising everyone (including himself), Max shakes off his usual indecision and pulls the trigger, nailing Danny right in the head. It proves that Max has what it takes to get the job done. However, Danny's passing is bound to shake up things in Atomic.
Alam will be left without his right-hand man, Max is in way over his head now, and that uranium is a live grenade waiting to go off.
The most intense part of the episode is when Max and Mohammed run for it with the dangerous cargo out of Beirut, and poor Cassandra picks herself up and starts over after Mohammed takes her out during their getaway. Plus, the CIA jumping in? That tells us this is a full-blown international spy showdown.

How does Alam deal with Danny's death on Atomic?
On the other hand, Alam handles Danny's passing with surprising ease on Atomic. He turns it into a tactical shift rather than letting it trip him up.
When Max gets in touch to confirm the news about Danny, Alam keeps his cool and points him toward Syria. This sets the stage for the next episode.
The situation for Max and Mohammed is looking grimmer than ever as the CIA, DEA, and Oksana's people are breathing down their necks. And this is to add to Alam's own crew. Danny's death started a disastrous series of events.
