The Chi premiered in 2018, and since its conception, the drama series has showcased several intriguing character-driven storylines that have kept viewers hooked to the TV show. One of those characters was Imani, played by Jasmine Davis.
Davis’s character was a recurring character in the hit series and had one of the most interesting storylines. She was a trans woman, just like the actress in real life, and was in a relationship with Luke James’s Victor ‘Trig’ Taylor. Imani appeared between Seasons 3 and 4 of The Chi, and later left after breaking up with Trig when she saw a viral video of him beating Bakari.
While Imani might not be a part of the show anymore, she was one of the most inspiring characters who tried to save the vulnerable women of society.
More on this in our story.
The Chi: What happens to Imani? Character's storyline explored

Jasmine Davis joined The Chi in season 3 and appeared as Imani for the first time in Episode 5. Imani identified as a woman from a young age, which ended up causing several problems in her life, including a father who did not accept her identity and even tried to kill her.
However, Imani was a confident and reliable character of The Chi, who not only was proud of her identity but also ended up becoming one of the fan-favorites due to her storyline. From trying to find Keisha and later vowing to help other vulnerable women like her, Imani played an important role in the show.
With Trig, Imani ended up saving several women who were helpless and vulnerable in their community and built a rescue home for them. While she was mocked due to her gender identity, it still did not deter her from helping other women.
Although her story was one of the most captivating in the series, it eventually came to an end when she broke up with Trig in Season 5. She saw a video of Trig beating Bakari and sent a message to him that they were no longer together. This was the last time Imani was mentioned in The Chi, as the actress had left the series.
The Chi: Why did Jasmine Davis leave? Reasons explored
Davis’s character, Imani, was one of the first out trans characters in The Chi. Therefore, she was an important part of the series with a compelling storyline. However, Jasmine Davis left the show after season 4.
