Jordan Li is a very active character in Gen V, representing the ultimate symbol of change. Jordan can transform from one form to another without any hindrance. The very manner in which Jordan battles, with equanimity in the midst of turmoil, is the individual abilities and relative virtues of each form: the masculine form demonstrating tenacity and invulnerability; the feminine one conquering through speed, agility, healing, and offense.

In Supes of this series, such is one of the most characteristic. Jordan is gender-fluid, and this combat character also arises from a specific type of interaction that becomes the starting point of the story. Gen V is a method of expression and development of super-soldier powers, so it can land both types of character and story exploration with Jordan in both versions, sustaining combat tactics, singularity, and expression.

The significance of gender transformation

Jordan's Gen V power is primarily of the form-switching. This alternates between the male and female forms and involves less obvious contextual socialising processes. Each of these forms would also mean different powers with respective attributes.

The male body primarily being for defense and has phenomenal resistance to nearly any kind of attack,

And while the female form is quick and aggressive, able to channel energy and heal in a rush.

They are engaged in battle strategy, tactical decisions, and human relationships at Godolkin University. The series has dropped hints that Compound V in some way has something to do with Jordan's shape of powers. How and when remains to be seen. What is certain in Gen V is the impact of Jordan's two shapes on power and how they see themselves.

Male form: Strength and stamina

Gen V drives Jordan's male side quite strongly towards defense and toughness.

Indestructibility: It is not disturbed by physical attacks, bullets, blunt trauma injuries, or fire. This kind of toughness is one where they absorb the damage, lose nothing, and are almost indestructible under virtually any kind of combat situation.

Incredible strength: Lifting, pushing, and throwing abilities far greater than human.

The disadvantage of this benefit is that the male form is not able to move quickly, thus not being used much in fighting against speedy and elusive enemies.

Female form: Aggressiveness and agility

In Gen V, the female form emphasizes agility and offensive characteristics:

Energy blasts: She can blast energetic punches of concussion energy from her hands to knock out or hurt enemies.

Agility: Agility to dodge enemy attacks and travel in the battlefield space.

Healing: Can heal any wound beyond human potential, giving additional fighting time.

While not as durable as the other form, the female build is a very lethal build for battle missions due to its unadulterated offense and speed.

Common powers

In Gen V, Jordan retains the basic powers in either form:

Superhuman strength: Both versions blast out strength beyond any human limit.

Heightened hearing: Greater sensitivity when it comes to situational noises; Jordan can hear noises beyond the human ear spectrum.

Stacking these into form-specific ones makes Jordan a complete Supe when it comes to offense and defense.

Weaknesses and limits

Jordan's Gen V ability interpretation is, however, half-efficient due to the weaknesses:

Trade-offs between figures: The man's figure trades off flexibility for toughness, and vice versa for the woman's figure.

Sensitivity to specific high-frequency types of sound: Like other Supes, sounds with extremely high frequencies will knock Jordan out temporarily.

Force-size: Either one of them can be beaten by brute strength or by combined attacks with or without the aforementioned power.

These deficiencies, therefore, limit their strengths so that even those superior ones render Jordan vulnerable.

Role of powers in character building

Jordan's gender switching is not a form of disguise; instead, it is an essential aspect of character development. Gen V describes how their two forms shape personality, strategy, and interpersonal dynamics. Their powers underlie deeper themes of identity, fluidity, and the impact of being powered.

The agency-based alternatives to strategy bring out the real-world applications of their skills, showing ability being accompanied by agency and human interaction at Godolkin University.

It is here that Jordan's skills in Gen V develop through gender transformation: near-immortality and brute strength for protection from the male physiology, fleetness, energy emission, and rapid healing from the female physiology.

These common traits, super-strength and heightened hearing, enhance both forms with trade-offs per form weaknesses in the shape of and susceptibility to high-pitched sound, keeping imbalances in check.

Powers possesses the most visually stunning action sequences that lead to character development on the issues of superhuman expression, protest, and identity, thereby leading to some of the most compelling action sequences and character development in Gen V. These dual lives are what make them one of the most exciting and vibrant of all Supes we have in the series.
