Developed by Matthew B. Roberts, Outlander: Blood of My Blood, is a historical romance drama series, which is a prequel to the popular show, Outlander. The series is based on the book series of the same name by Diana Gabaldon and features Harriet Slater, Jeremy Irvine, and others.
Outlander: Blood of My Blood tells the love story of the parents of the protagonists of the original show—Jamie Fraser and Claire Beauchamp. While Jamie’s parents are in 18th century Scotland and are played by Harriet Slater as Ellen MacKenzie and Jamie Roy as Brian Fraser, Claire’s parents' story is set during World War I and from there they travel back in time. Even ahead of the show’s premiere on August 8, 2025, the show had been renewed by Starz as the streaming platform hopes to expand the universe of the show. Deadline reported that the next season of the show has kicked off production in Scotland in June 2025.
