The red beret-clad icon was not just a talented actor. He was also a dancer who knew how to entertain people. Moreover, before his big acting break in What’s Happening!!, Fred Berry was a member of a dance troupe named The Lockers.

“I was a millionaire by the time I was 29, but then the stress of success got to me. The fat jokes got to me, and I got heavily into drugs and alcohol.”

He was also fired from the show, which also led to the deterioration of his situation with addiction. His career took a shift, and he moved to corporate work. In an interview with CNN, he said,

“I'm still called Rerun and I love it! People ask me to dance every day, no matter where I am -- in the grocery store or in the boardroom.”
