The Family Next Door: Details explored

The Family Next Door, as stated by ABC iview, is based on the novel of the same name by Sally Hepworth. The Family Next Door was released on ABC TV at 8 pm on 10th August 2025, and is available for streaming on ABC iview. The show has six episodes, and they are all out on ABC iview.

While Isabelle tries to portray herself as an innocent writer, something about her is amiss. In the trailer itself, we see she has a list of people who live on Pleasant Court, and she asks for information from someone who seems like a detective. To quote her exactly, Isabelle says,

''Anything you could give me would help.''

We also see her hell-bent on finding out more about Pleasant Court, which is initially explained by the fact that she is writing a piece about the place, but soon starts to raise suspicions. But she is not the only one acting strangely. We can tell from the get-go that Isabelle is suspicious of the people who are her new neighbors, and she came to Pleasant Court with a goal in mind. It seems Isabell is trying to solve a mystery, and as she says in the trailer,

''Somebody here knows something.''

The question is what she is hoping one of these neighbors knows, and why. Besides, the other mystery the show must solve for viewers is why Isabelle has moved to a totally different place, is investigating these new neighbors, and is paying for things only with cash. In the trailer, Isabelle's neighbors are seen to be discussing the fact that she pays with cash, saying only,

''Drug dealers, sex workers, baby sitters, women on the run do that.''

If you find yourself intrigued as well, you can stream the show, now streaming on ABC iview.
