The battle takes place in Kyoto's Tenryuji Temple with 292 other destitute samurai, greedy for the 100 billion yen prize and killing each other off for the same. One survivor from among all the samurai will be able to claim the prize money.

The cast list of Last Samurai Standing

Among the 292 samurai is Shujiro Saga, who has entered with a motive to save his ailing wife and child. But would he lose his life? Or would kill others brutally, making some morally complex decisions. Each warrior must steal the wooden tags of others and race to Tokyo, battling for survival, honour, and redemption.
Shujiro fights through treachery, alliances, and bloodshed. He finds himself in a dilemma about the very idea of samurai and whether honour or survival defines the true spirit of it. Okada comes with an extensive background in martial arts choreography and cinematic combat realism. Therefore, he isn't just starring in Last Samurai Standing but is also the producer and action planner.
Wondering where else you have seen this actor? Because of his recent contributions to The Fable series, Eien no Zero, and Sekigahara, he is valued among the finest action heroes from Japan. Alongside him is Kaya Kiyohara as Yuria, a woman whose fate is largely impacted by Shujiro's journey. Shujiro also has a rival samurai named Ryunosuke, played by Masahiro Higashide.
The show has used Ryunosuke's story to show how, when survival instincts take over morality, humans can be transformed into the most brutal creatures. Then comes Kazunari Ninomiya as Shozaemon, portrayed as a cunning samurai who takes strategic and well-planned steps, and his intelligence is his major strength. Supporting cast includes Yumia Fujisaki, Shota Sometani, and Riho Yoshioka, each contributing significantly to paint the most authentic world of samurai.
