With the Had I Not Seen the Sun Part 2 release date now confirmed, fans are left with almost a month of waiting before they can continue with the show. What is the release date of Had I Not Seen the Sun Part 2?
As mentioned, Had I Not Seen the Sun will return with its part two on December 11. Part one, which is already available to stream on Netflix, consists of ten episodes, giving viewers almost nine hours of interesting and thrilling content to watch before part two arrives.
The series has already earned a solid 6.7 rating on IMDb, making it a great pick for fans looking for an engaging binge-watch this weekend.
Speaking about the series, Chien Chi-feng said in the Netflix press:
"Had I Not Seen The Sun is a story built around the theme of “irreversibility.” Growing up, we were taught that wounds heal with time. Yet as we get older, we realize that many wounds are irreversible and cannot be healed. Through the series, we hope to encourage everyone to cherish the people and things around them, and to embrace every life that has been hurt."
The series focuses heavily on its characters and their emotional journeys. Producer Phoebe Ma, on why the series stands out, added:
"Watching the characters’ experiences and transformations naturally draws you in emotionally, making you laugh with their joy and ache with their pain. The cast delivers performances unlike anything they’ve shown before. I believe audiences, like us, will also fall in love with these characters, allowing the story to leave a lasting place in their hearts."
What does the Had I Not Seen the Sun part 1 revolve around?
Part one of Had I Not Seen the Sun follows Hsiao Tung Chiang, played by Moon Lee, a ballet dancer, and Jen Yao Li, a character played by Jing-Hua Tseng, who portrays a young man with a dark past. Chiang's graceful world meets Jen-yao's darker one, and the story shows how their lives, symbolized by moths and butterflies, are drawn to each other but may never truly meet.
Jing-Hua Tseng, speaking to Netflix about the series, said:
"The series transitions from a campus youth romance into dark suspense. It conveys the profound experiences of emotional separation, as well as healing and forgiveness. These characters will take the audience through emotional highs and lows, embodying both light and darkness."
Fans can also see Jen Yao's past as the 'Rainstorm Killer,' which makes the story really intense and suspenseful. The story revealed how in the past Yao killed his own father along with students from his high school. While he turned himself in, he never revealed the real reasons behind why he committed those crimes.
While Tseng said Had I Not Seen the Sun follows a campus romance turning into suspense, Moon Lee, talking to the streaming platform, noted that to her, the series feels warm and hopeful, and shared how excited she has been to bring the story to viewers.
The story also takes another turn when a new character, Chou Pin-yu, comes into the picture. She starts meeting Jen-Yao in prison, and through her, the viewers slowly learn more about his past and his connection with Hsiao-tung, making the story even more intriguing.
Had I Not Seen the Sun Part 2 will probably dig deeper into Jen-Yao's past and show more about how he, Hsiao-tung, and Chou Pin-yu are connected. We'll likely see Pin-yu learning more about Jen-Yao in prison and uncovering secrets that explain his dark past and the reason behind those dreams.
Hsiao-tung's story might get more focus too in Had I Not Seen the Sun Part 2. Viewers can also expect the story to focus on healing and facing the past, which is what the whole series is really about.
Had I Not Seen the Sun Part 2 will be available on Netflix after its release.
