The Australian Disney+ original, The Artful Dodger Season 2, is reportedly returning with its all-star cast in February 2026. Thomas Brodie-Sangster is set to return as Jack Dawkins in the historical heist drama, but this time around, he's in some big trouble.
Inspired by Charles Dickens' Oliver Twist, Dr. Jack Dawkins, a street urchin or an artful dodger, lives a double life in 1850s Australia as a respected surgeon. The second season finds him in a bit of a chaotic situation as the noose is constantly hunting him, and if he sees Lady Belle, he'll find himself even closer to it.

The Artful Dodger Season 2: Disney reveals premiere date for the Australian original
Since its premiere in 2023, The Artful Dodger has been acclaimed for its chaotic and entertaining energy. Now, the chaos and the fun have been doubled with Thomas Brodie-Sangster's return as Jack Dawkins for another season.
Similar to the first season's release, The Artful Dodger Season 2 is set to premiere with all of its episodes at once on February 10, 2026, on Disney+ and Hulu. Similar to the first season, the second season will also have eight episodes, all of which will be available to stream.
The second season of the Aussie original is set to amp up the adventure, the wit, and most importantly, the romance. The official synopsis for The Artful Dodger Season 2 reads:
"Jack’s back! The Artful Dodger returns, and he’s in deep trouble. He’s got an appointment with the noose, he’s being hunted by Inspector Boxer, Port Victory’s new lawman, and if he sees the woman he loves, Lady Belle, he’ll be hanged. Meanwhile, Lady Belle is determined to forge her future in medicine, defying expectation and stepping into danger, driven by ambition and a love already hanging in the balance."
It goes on to add:
"With Boxer competing with Jack for Belle’s affection, the crafty Fagin drags Dodger into their most dangerous heist yet, and a killer is on the loose. Get ready for an explosive season of new characters and locations with more thrills, humour, heart, invention and deception than ever."
For the cast, Thomas Brodie-Sangster is set to return as Jack Dawkins, and he will be joined by Maia Mitchell as Lady Belle Fox. Additionally, David Thewlis is joining as Norbert Fagin, and the new additions to the ensemble will join him. Namely, Luke Bracey is joining as Inspector Henry Boxer, Zac Burgess as Phineas Golden, and finally Jeremy Sims as Uncle Dickie.
Other stars who are returning for The Artful Dodger Season 2 are Damien Garvey as Governor Fox and Susie Porter as Lady Jane Fox, Lucy-Rose Leonard as Lady Fanny Fox and Tim Minchin as Darius Cracksworth, Kim Gyngell as The Prof and Nicholas Burton as Dr. Sneed, and finally Luke Carroll as Tim Billiberllary.
Talking about the returning season, a Walt Disney executive said:
