The makers utilised both on and off-location places and studios to deliver a world where the beautiful yet painful story can breathe. Read on to explore the full details of the filming locations of the miniseries.
Where was A Thousand Tomorrows filmed? Filming locations explored

As mentioned, the primary location for the show has been Tulsa, Oklahoma, and the filming sites were Claremore, Hillcrest Hospital, and Perfect Bride Boutique, which helped to perfectly merge the small town and rodeo vibe. Tulsa is full of open landscapes and rodeo culture, featuring some cattle herding like in Spain and Mexico. This made it ideal for a love story to unfold with cowboy grit, and small-town authenticity and innocence.
While speaking with Tulsa World, Executive producer Cassidy Lunnen emphasized,
“Located in the middle of the heartland, I cannot think of a better location than Tulsa to capture this all-American story centered on faith and love.”
Not only A Thousand Tomorrows, but many Hollywood films have been shot in Tulsa, like Killers of the Flower Moon, Minari, The Outsiders, and series like Tulsa King were also shot there.

The bull riding scenes, and barrel racing scenes shown in the series were shot in the Will Rogers Stampede Arena (13601 East 480 Road). The location manager, Scott Clark, had come up with the prime location as he had actually attended some rodeos in the past, making it an easier and authentic choice for production. The location requires a special license from the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. After the location was finalised, some script changes were also made to highlight the arena and Claremore itself.
“I went ahead and changed it in the script, it was supposed to be Ace High Roughstock,” Lunnen said. “I actually just changed it to be **Will Rogers Stampede. We call out Oklahoma, and we call out Claremore. We changed the dialogue to say Claremore.”

Claremore has been a hub for filmmaking. Several films like Reservation Dogs, Unplugging, etc, have been shot here.
Another challenge the crew faced was filming inside the Hillcrest Hospital. Location manager Scott Clark came up with the idea of shooting in an unused wing of the hospital, as most of the medical facilities were too active or completely abandoned.
Thus, the major visual imagery is created by two prime locations, Tulsa and Claremore, merging a perfect rural backdrop with a rodeo vibe.
