Ahead of the 1000-lb Sisters season 7 premiere, fans are curious about where the show's stars, Amy and Tammy Slaton, are. They have been the centre of attention on the show since it started on TLC in 2020.

The show has captured their health journey, life, relationships, and marriages as they dealt with the issues of having a huge weight. The sisters live in Kentucky, and when the show started airing, they were dealing with obesity, which could affect their lives in a worse way.

At the beginning, Amy was 405 pounds while Tammy was 605, and upon adding, we get the 1000 pounds that the show's title is talking about.

Sharing about their journey, the 1000-lb sisters revealed that they had had this issue since they were kids. Due to obesity and how quickly it becomes morbid, they have been struggling with their mental and physical health.

But upon starring in the show, the sisters had decided to reduce their weights and walk towards a healthier life. Six seasons have passed, and the fans have seen their journey through thick and thin.

1000-lb Sisters star Amy and Tammy - Where are they now?

Amy and Tammy are returning for the brand new seventh season of 1000-lb Sisters and will continue to share about their personal lives and health. Reflecting on their journey so far, they told People in 2023, Tammy said,

"By putting our stories out there, we’re helping others see they can lose weight too. They’re not alone."

The two sisters had struggled with weight gain, especially when emotional eating became a habit after their grandmother's passing. They were YouTubers before being cast by TLC for this new concept of a reality show.

The platform was an attempt by them to make new friends, as it was difficult to leave the house with their weight issues. Upon featuring on 1000-lb Sisters, Amy and Tammy had decided to shed some weight so that they could undergo bariatric surgery.

Amy's journey was pretty straightforward during the initial years of the show. She was able to qualify for the surgery after season 1 itself. However, Tammy, whose weight was around 600 pounds at the time, struggled even more and fell back into the food addiction that brought her down in the first place.

It was not until 3 seasons later that the viewers saw Tammy also be eligible for the surgery. As for Amy, she then welcomed two sons, Gage Deon and Glenn Allen.

Since then, both sisters have had huge transformations. After her surgery and continued diet and exercise, Tammy has been able to shed 500 pounds from her body. This has helped save her life and allowed her to fit in normally with people without being stared at.

Her doctor had talked about skin removal surgery, which has become a necessity in Tammy's case because of the weight she has lost. However, she would have to maintain this scale number for a stable period of months before being eligible.

1000-Lb Sisters Season 7 airs new episodes every week on Tuesdays at 9 PM Eastern Time on TLC. Later, the episodes can be streamed online via TLC Go.
