According to the Los Angeles Times, the abandoned mining town of Elizabeth Bay in Namibia, was the location used to represent the nuclear wasteland city. Fallout's production designer Howard Cummings told the outlet,“It’s just so gorgeously destroyed.”He explained that constant sandstorms damaged the buildings naturally over time. Thus, very little set dressing was needed to make the area feel authentic. He also said,“When they abandoned the giant processing facility, they blew up the manufacturing parts.
