Where does Malice take place? Setting of the Prime Video series explored

Malice blends high-society tension with a stunning holiday backdrop. The affluent, influential Tanner family’s vacation soon turns messy as they manipulate, lie, and create a mess. In Malice's story, viewers are transported to two very different settings.

The first one is a bright Greek island with whitewashed houses, sunny tavernas and quiet harbors. The second one is the cold, glass-and-grey streets of London. Malice can feel like a dreamy imagery at one moment and stressful the next. The sunny views seem tranquil, but that doesn’t camouflage the characters’ true intentions behind their facade.

A sun-soaked Greek playground

The Tanner family does not land in a random "Mediterranean" place. Malice really leans into the Aegean vibe. Most of the filming occurred on Greek islands, with Paros mentioned often as a key site. The seaside cafes, little stone churches, and beaches create a postcard-perfect setting. The crew filmed on islands and coastal locations, so the entire setting feels authentically Greek and not like areas constructed on a studio backlot.

The bright light, salty air, and winding streets all contribute to making every moment seem authentic and textured, and you can really feel it. The islands themselves are almost a character: Bright, stunning and also a little menacing when someone starts scheming.

Boats, churches, and the exact places you will recognise from Malice

Malice is full of fun clues in case you are the type of person who stops the credits to identify where a show was filmed. You will find boat decks, little pebble beaches, seaside walkways, and even local chapels being used throughout the episodes. It has been reported that the show employs actual, recognisable locations: The harbors and beaches of Paros, to the bays and village squares of the neighbouring islands.

Malice’s crew shot in real tavernas, docks and streets instead of constructing large sets. The details in the background, the people, the signs, the old stone walls, all of it appears natural and real. It is due to this fact that the show combines slick thriller aesthetics and local charm. It is these little details that give the impression that the scenes are real, even when the plot itself takes crazy turns.

London, the Tanner home, and the business world

Malice also shifts its mood and hue as the show leaves the warm sunshine of Greece. The London scenes take us back to the day-to-day world of the Tanners: Offices, townhouses and the peaceful, shaded neighbourhood that silently reveals how the privileged class operates behind the scenes.

Their UK home base (mentioned in production notes, which includes suburban locations, as well as the Richmond area) is totally the opposite of the holiday setting. It reminds us that the trip was not purely a vacation to have fun but it is connected to their jobs, their wealth, and their long family history.

This urban-to-island transformation assists Malice in experimenting with actions and ramifications. In Malice, it is something that occurs on the holiday that certainly does not stay there. The family is haunted back home with problems in the form of legal complications, work stress, and media coverage.

The more material and subdued appearance of London also makes the vivid Greek sunlight seem all the more dramatic when the story goes back to it.
